One soldier likened his experience in the Israeli army to an intoxicating drug: "You feel like you are the law; you make the rules. It's as if, from the moment you leave Israel and enter the Gaza Strip, you become god."
In the article, another soldier, who was part of a group that had reportedly had 'no prior inclination to violence,' stated that during his experience in Gaza, "it looked exactly like we were actually the Nazis and they were the Jews."

US Special Forces prepared HTS before they raided Aleppo and Damascus
In the lead-up to the removal of Bashar al-Assad, U.S. special forces worked to prepare Syrian rebels, signalling that a major assault was imminent. Reports indicate that the U.S. not only informed the rebels of the upcoming attack on Assad's regime but also helped bolster their ranks in preparation. Additionally, it has been revealed that American forces played a key role in facilitating coordination between the various rebel groups in Syria.
"They didn’t give us the specifics," explained Bashar al-Mashadani, a commander in the Revolutionary Commando Army. "They simply told us, ‘Everything is about to change. This is your moment. Either Assad falls, or you do.’ But there were no details about timing or location. It was just clear that we had to be ready."
