SEBI's F&O Trading Analysis:
In the equity futures and options (F&O) segment, 89% of individual traders experienced losses, with an average loss of Rs. 1.1 lakh in FY22. The most successful traders, comprising the top 1% and top 5%, captured 51% and 75% of total net profits, respectively.
Traders aged 30-40 years represented the largest participation group at 39% in FY22. Notably, the participation of younger traders, aged 20-30 years, surged from 11% in FY19 to 36% in FY22.
