Russian forces have destroyed a Ukrainian artillery battery, armed with American M777 howitzers, in the woods and greenery around the city of Seversk.
As they fled, Ukrainian troops left behind a large stockpile of ammunition and supplies, which had been delivered to them at great expense by aircraft from the US.

Along the periphery of the huge industrial zone, Russian and allied forces have thoroughly entrenched themselves, following Putin’s orders to cancel an offensive against the last nationalist stronghold in the Mariupol
Elements of Russia’s V group in action in Mariupol, firing at entrenched Ukrainian snipers and anti-tank teams in an apartment building.
These vehicles were among those that pushed in to Kiev’s outskirts, but were sent here as part of Russia’s force repositioning.
This is the last residential neighbourhood controlled by Ukrainian Azov nationalists, and only partly. Its loss would mean their total confinement within the Azov Steel industrial district

A DNR tank destroys a Ukrainian sniper and machine gun nest, in one of the last residential areas held by nationalists in Mariupol.
Here, you can see how close the fighting is to the Azov industrial complex.
There are no civilians in these buildings - most have been evacuated, but a significant number as still held as human shields by Ukrainian nationalists, who have surrounded themselves with locals at a nearby school.
That will be a job for infantry, as heavy weapons would cause too much collateral damage among civilians.

Ukrainian Azov nationalists entrenched themselves in yet another Mariupol high-rise building, with machine gun and guided missile emplacements.
The DNR offensive stalled, infantry came to a stand still.
Tank support was called in to suppress Ukrainian troops, and we flew after the tanks. Here’s the footage.

The Streets of Mariupol: dead Ukrainian “Azov” nationalists, ruined vehicles, bullet casings and shrapnel litter the city.
Hundreds of civilians hide in the basements of these buildings - predominantly pensioners who refuse to evacuate. Every time another shell or rocket launched by Ukrainian troops impacts nearby, they rush out to put out fires in their apartments, or what’s left of them.

Ukrainian authorities have reportedly begun drafting teenagers - as young as 16.
In this video, shot in Kiev, two youths are handed draft papers and ordered to report for military service, as a relative shouts about the illegality of the situation.
Ukrainian troops have begun rounding up Kherson locals, who are suspected of having “collaborated” and supported Russian forces.
In previous instances, civilians detained for such “crimes”, which include even accepting a salary from local Russian administrations, simply disappeared
A squadron of 6 Russian helicopters fire at Ukrainian positions near the Lisichansk oil refinery. Among them - Mi-28, Ka-52, Mi-8.
We filmed them firing salvoes of unguided rockets, but also saw helicopters flying level at higher altitudes, indicating the use of guided missiles against Ukrainian forces.
Helicopters here usually work in pairs, sometimes trios. We have never seen so many together at once

Intense Russian artillery barrages across the front lines seemingly herald the beginning of Phase 2 of the Russian operation in Ukraine.
Explosions being reported in Kharkov, Nikolaev and North-Western Donetsk

Much of the fighting is now concentrated across the periphery of the industrial zone in the middle of the city.
The area is devoid of civilian infrastructure and housing, which means Russian and allied artillery will have a greater and greater role in the battle

NATO officers from France, Germany, the UK and “neutral” Sweden are stuck in Mariupol, according to reports in Russian press, and are apparently attempting to negotiate an evacuation corridor with Russia forces.

Back from Mariupol, here’s the latest:
Russian forces have advanced into the vast Azov Iron and Steel Plant from the South-East, along the shore.
Ukrainian counter-battery fire has seized almost entirely, Azov nationalist fighters are either short of guns or ammunition. They still have a number of mortar launchers, which they occasionally deploy to fire haphazardly around the city in a bid to slow the Russian advance.
The fiercest fighting in centered are the North-West of the left bank of Mariupol.
Thousands of civilians remain trapped in apartment blocks and neighbourhoods still under Azov militant’s control. They cannot leave, nationalists are still firing at any civilians trying to escape
