Debts are not merely monetary!
A debt could be a kind word in a moment of collapse
Or sympathy in a monent of grief
Or support in a moment of weakness
Or guidance in a moment of loss
Or a hug in a moment of consolation
Or patting on the shoulder in a moment of vulnerability
It is okay not to repay those debts; however, it is disgraceful to forget them.

“Fight in the Cause of Allah, you are not tasked except for yourself, and incite the believers...” [Qur'an Translated Meaning 4:84]
This Ayah is very important because it combines both aspects of responsibility.
Fight in the cause of Allah: this is your responsibility towards Islam and Muslims.
And incite the believers: encourage them to fight alongside you.
But, you are only responsible for yourself.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever grants respite to one in difficulty or forgives [his debt], Allah will shade him under His Throne."
For when he grants a debtor respite he places him under the shade of his patience and forbearance, sparing him the heat of repayment demands—which intensify the debtor’s sense of financial hardship and incapacity.
Thus, Allah will save the lender from the scorching heat on the Day of Resurrection and grant him shade under His Throne.

Whoever holds an opinion that contradicts the Sharia but keeps it private among his close circle—there is no need to publicly refute him; because public refutation would be spreading the wrong and inciting others to sin.
But whoever publishes an opinion that contains a violation—here, it is permissible under Sharia to publicly refute it, in order to warn people.
Some people say that one must always advise privately, but this is incorrect. Both are prescribed: private advice and public refutation.

When the heart is filled with the desire for Allah’s pleasure and the Hereafter, it magnifies even the slightest kindness shown by others. You will see such a person grateful for the simplest care from his wife and humbled by the smallest respect shown by his peers. Do you not see how Allah describes such people: “We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We wish neither reward nor thanks from you.” (Qur’an Translated Meanings 76:9)

"...And let it be known that Allah’s answering of those who ask Him is not due to the worthiness of the petitioner before Him. Rather, His servant might ask Him for a need, and He fulfills it for him—yet in it lies his ruin and misery. And His granting it to him may be due to his insignificance before Him and his low standing in His sight. Conversely, if He withheld it may be due to the servant’s honor before Him and His love for him, so Allah withholds it as a form of protection, safeguarding, and preservation—not out of stinginess...."

Allah the Almighty says:
(يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ)
Which can be translated as, "The Day when mankind will be like scattered moths." (Qur'an Translated Meaning 101:4).
Scholars have explained that on the Day of Resurrection, when people emerge from their graves, they will resemble scattered butterflies in their swift, confused, and agitated movements. In our time, scientists have added another layer of resemblance between humans and butterflies. Just as the butterfly grows from primary cells that do not dissolve after the caterpillar's decomposition, the human body is reconstructed from primary cells in the coccyx, the small bone at the base of the spine.

Is striving (jihad) with the heart possible? Yes, indeed it is narrated in Sahih Muslim, ”…and he who strives against them with his heart is a believer…” Striving with ones heart is attainable by loving the good and abhorring the evil and spurning it.
So, alas to the idle hearts!

Human disposition impact the response to calamities. Mostly the brave individual will tend to take bold actions. In contrast, the coward tends to hesitate and retract. Every person is tested according to their inherent disposition, which must be resisted to comply with the truth.

A very special congratulations to the dear people of Gaza.
May Allah accept your fasting, your prayers, your patience, and your steadfastness through every tragedy, oppression, loss, pain, and brokenness, and through every feeling of dignity that grips the heart! And the reward is in proportion to the hardship.
There is a vast difference between those who display the signs of Allah in peace and security, and those who display them amid the rubble of destruction, the funerals of martyrs, and under the bombardment of tyranny and cruel hatred.
May Allah accept from you every moment of fear and anxiety, surrounded by faith in Allah Almighty and the certainty that all matters are in His hands, glorified and exalted.
Your Eid is a holiday stained with blood and despair, a holiday where the misguided, the tyrants of the earth, and their followers have gathered to kill you and gloat over your death.
But!
The final outcome is what truly matters, and the honor lies in the ending.
With Allah, the steadfastness of the Muslim is never lost or diminished!
With Allah is the complete healing, compensation, and happiness.
And everything that has befallen you, with patience, is a rise in rank that is cherished and sought.
Proclaim Allah’s greatness with pride, and display the signs of the faith with dignity. As long as you are Muslims to Allah, the One, the Only, nothing from this lowly world will harm you!
By Allah, the stones, the trees, the sky, and the earth all testify to the ultimate revenge upon the sinful, disbelieving killers.
So have patience, for the day of reckoning is near.
May each year bring you closer to Allah, purer, more devoted, and more beloved by Him. May each year bring you as a thorn in the throats of the disbelievers, and as bitterness and an obstacle they cannot overcome.
May Allah complete your Eid al-Fitr with acceptance, forgiveness, pleasure, ease, gifts, recompense, and love.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. There is no god but Allah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, and to Allah belongs all praise.
Dr Layla Hamdan

Voices saying: "These non-Muslim activists who support Gaza are better than this negligent Muslim nation,"** — stated as a blanket generalization, are getting louder.
Repeating such statements reinforces a sense of lost virtue within the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ, as though our nation has become inferior to others, and as though the presence or absence of Islam has no bearing on a person's moral worth. This also entails an unfair generalization. As our Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever says, 'The people are ruined,' he is the most ruined among them."
There is no doubt that many who claim to belong to Islam are disengaged from the concerns of their Ummah and care only for their desires. These are like the scum carried by a flood.
And there is no doubt that some falsely affiliate themselves with the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ while actively participating in the oppression of their brothers and sisters. These individuals are disavowed by the Ummah, and the Ummah is disavowed by them.
But on the other hand, it is unjust to ignore the immense good that is systematically silenced, suffocated, and suppressed:
How many within this Ummah have living hearts, who stood with Gaza, sacrificed, and ended up imprisoned, humiliated, and handed long sentences — causing deep suffering to their children, spouses, and parents?
How many have taken to the streets in protests and demonstrations, or donated generously — donations sufficient to support entire countries, not just Gaza?
How many doctors, aid workers, and journalists risked their lives, left behind a life of ease, to provide medical care to their brothers and sisters or to report on their suffering?
How many scholars and preachers from our Ummah were imprisoned after the Arab revolutions, with tens of thousands languishing behind bars — mourned by those who once knew them, then forgotten by all but a few? Yet they had remarkable contributions and widespread good.
How many among our people wake up and sleep in pain and anguish over their brothers’ conditions, with a sincere willingness to sacrifice — if only a path were available?
Yes, some expressions of despair toward the Ummah and praise of others may come from a place of sincere pain and heartbreak. But pain should not lead us to distort fundamental truths, disparage our Ummah, or question its God-given worth.
We deeply appreciate the stance taken by many non-Muslim activists who stand with our people in Gaza. We pray that Allah guides them and opens their hearts to Islam — for we desire good for them just as they have shown good to our brothers and sisters.
And we must continue, as Muslims, to stand firm in our support — by every possible means — without succumbing to despair or engaging in destructive self-criticism that only weakens us further.
We ask Allah to deal justly with anyone who obstructs support for our brothers and sisters, both in this world and the next. And we ask Him to enable us to support them in a way that earns His pleasure.
How heavy these days are for anyone with a modicum of allegiance to his nation. The current hardship is indeed intense. Whoever ruminates over what should be done will trivialize their contribution. And whoever just keeps thinking about what is beyond our capacities will feel hopeless and crippled.
There is no exit from this despair after exerting everything in our hands except by the true and diligent efforts in the back rows filling the gaps and completing the deficiencies in preparation for the next round, along with unwavering certainty in Allah’s promise. The one whom Allah guides to achieve that will be filled with fervor and determination, and despair cannot infiltrate his heart, by the Will of Allah

It is better for the devil to distort religion than to create a devilish idea independent of religion, for pure falsehood is hard to sell to people and carry no influence, whereas falsehood mixed with truth is easily embellished and more likely to attract followers.
That’s why one of the most important duties of scholars is to distinguish truth from falsehood and expose the deception of the people of falsehood, so that those who choose falsehood do so with clear understanding of what it is.

When a principle is accompanied by some personal benefit, many rush to it. But when adhering to a principle entails hardship, excuses and evasion become rampant. Do you not see what Allah says, which can be translated as: “If it had been an easy gain and a short journey, they would have followed you, but the distance was too far for them…’ “ (Qur’an Translated Meaning 9:42)?
This explains to the observer why, during times of strength, both the mission-bearers and the opportunistic join the call, while in times of weakness, the opportunists fall away!

Allah has mentioned the shifting of power balances throughout history, linking it to the fact that the purpose is to test the depth of faith and connection with Him: “And so are the days [of varying conditions], We alternate them among the people so that Allah may make evident those who have believed and take martyrs from among you. And Allah does not like the wrongdoers.” (Qur’an Translated Meaning 3:140)

The true nature of the battle waged by the prophets against their nations, and the established Sunnah in their call, only becomes clear to those who understand two crucial realities:
The nature of the religion as Allah Almighty revealed it and intended it to be realized on earth.
The nature of the ignorance (Jahiliyyah) that it came to abolish and fight against.

The history books that we all read never include Messengers and Prophets. Their biographies do not represent an essential pivot for the history of mankind written by humans. On the other hand, The Quran conveys the true history of mankind by making Messengers and Prophets as the milestones.

We contemplate how these beautiful, colorful creatures were once unattractive caterpillars. That caterpillar was guided by Allah to spin a cocoon around itself, where digestive fluids were secreted, dissolving most of its body until it died—except for some primary cells from which the butterfly's body grew by the will of Allah. This process is akin to entering a car into a sealed room, breaking it down, and then assembling its fragments into a massive, beautiful, and powerful airplane. The greatest scientists are incapable of such a feat, just as they cannot create a single living cell. The dissolution and death of the caterpillar, followed by its revival in the form of a butterfly, provides us with an example of resurrection after death.

Allah revealed to his Prophet what can be translated as, "You have your religion, and I have mine" (Quran, 109:6) as a declaration against polytheism, not to promote interfaith unity or syncretism. It was revealed to the profit - peace be upon him - in Makkah. Then he migrated from it, and later on returned to it conquering it and demolishing its idols.

Seeking self safety at the expense of conviction is a flawed approach. The correct stance is to prioritize the integrity of the principle, if self safety follows then that's a blessing, and if it doesn't, then that's a test.

Rational Muslims everywhere should increase their presence on social media, amplifying their voices to rise above those of the fools who indulge in distorting faith, da'wa, the teachings of the Righteous Predecessors, and the Sunnah, and concentrate their efforts on sowing discord among the believers.
The focus of the participation should be on current events and issues.
