Cooperation and Victory
"'...If you do not do so, there will be oppression on earth and great corruption" (Qur'an Translated Meaning 8:73)
Al-Tabari, may Allah have mercy on him, said in his commentary: “If you do not do what I have commanded you regarding cooperation and supporting one another in the religion, there will be oppression on earth and great corruption—meaning through the emergence of disbelief, sins, and evil, and the weakening of Islam and its people.”

Truth and Strength
Truth must have a power to support it, for Allah the Almighty sent down the Book and sent down iron.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Strive against the polytheists with your wealth, your hands, and your tongues.” The West greatly fears Jihad; if they wish to warn against a person or a group, they label them 'Jihadi' or 'terrorist,' and so do the followers and allies of the West!

A Muslim should be keen on what unites rather than what divides. Allah the Almighty has diversified specializations and fields and varied His distribution among His creation. Had He willed, He could have made mankind one single nation, made all schools of thought one, and made all talents identical. However, His wisdom, Glorified be His Name, necessitated otherwise.

Guarding Against Envy and Slander
"...And do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace ‘You are not a believer,’ aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many profits…” (Qur'an Translated Meaning 4:94)
Do not attack your brother's religious commitment in pursuit of a worldly gain or for religious prestige and status. Do not preoccupy yourself with what Allah has given your brothers out of envy or to diminish them. With Allah are 'many profits,' so occupy yourself with what is in the Hand of Allah; for His treasuries are never exhausted, and nothing is too great for Him, Glory be to Him.

The Days of Alternating Fortune
And those days [of fortune] Allah alternates among the people, so that He may know who follows guidance from those who change and alter [their principles] when the balance of power shifts. “...simply because one nation is more numerous than another. Allah only tests you thereby…” [Qur’an Translated Meaning 16:92].
In such times, the ethics of scholars vanish, and the temperament of soldiers surfaces. Allah then selects a 'remnant' of righteous people. Allah is All-Aware of what you do; He knows the intention of every soul, He knows the secret and what is even more hidden, and He knows the true motives and the fears.

Evaluating Speech
"No good is there in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin charity or goodness or conciliation between people…” [Qur'an Translated Meaning 4:114].
Here it is, in total clarity: 'No good.' It negates goodness from much of human talk and discourse, excepting only those matters that belong to the provisions for the Hereafter and what one prepares for the meeting with Allah.

The Danger of the "First Insult"
Just as it used to be said to those traveling abroad, 'Beware of the first woman and the first drink,' it is nearly appropriate to say to those engaging in social media: 'Beware of the first insult.'
I have seen brothers of mine who were the furthest of people from crude rebuttals and foul language. Then, due to frequent exposure to unrefined debaters, they grew lenient and allowed themselves one harsh response. This was followed by others like it until the barrier between them and these foul methods collapsed. If you discuss this new style with them, they say: 'There are people who only understand this language.'
Observe how they fell into a new behavior—which they then legitimized for themselves—that they never would have fallen into it previously, simply due to loitering in the 'streets' of social networks and constant exposure to a flow of low-level discourse.

The Ruling on Congratulating Christians for their Religious Occasions or Celebrating Them

It is not permissible to congratulate a Christian for the false claim of the birth of a son to Allah. And even if there are non-Muslims living among Muslims, the rulings of Allah are not subject to exchange; so you are not permitted to venerate an idol just because a polytheist entered the mosque with you.

On the occasion of the birth of the Messiah, Christians recall and affirm his alleged sonship to Allah. Allah, Most High, says what can be translated as: “And they say, ‘The Most Merciful has taken a son.’ You have certainly come with a monstrous claim. The heavens almost rupture therefrom, the earth splits open, and the mountains collapse in devastation.” (Qur'an Translated Meaning, Surah Maryam 19:88–90)

It is not permissible for a Muslim to attend the religious festivals of the polytheists, by consensus. Allah, Most High, says what can be translated as: “And those who do not witness falsehood.” Falsehood here refers to their festivals. This was stated by the early scholars Abu Al-‘Aliyah, Tawus, and Ibn Sirin.

It was not permissible for the Companions to attend the festivals of the polytheists or to congratulate them on their religious feasts. Umar ibnul-Khattab said: “Avoid the enemies of Allah during their festivals.” Reported by Al-Bayhaqi with an authentic chain.

The date of the birth of the Messiah has not been reliably established, and disagreement over it remains between the Orthodox and the Catholics to this day. If they did not preserve their own scripture, then how could they preserve the date of birth of the one to whom the scripture was attributed?

The prohibition of congratulating Christians on their festivals, such as Christmas, does not mean confronting them with harshness. Rather, the heart of the common person should be drawn closer through gentle invitation, calling him to reflect upon the reality of this “born god” — exalted is Allah above all that.
Allah deprives a person of sustenance that he has worked so hard to earn because it will be a cause for him to enter hellfire. Abdullah ibn Masoud said, “A man may aspire to gain from business or sovereignty. Once he achieves that, Allah commands an angel, “Go and turn this away from My servant. If I make this easy for him, I will send him to hellfire. The angel will then impede that person, and this provision will be taken away. He then remains superstitious about his neighbors, “so and so deceived me”, “so and so is ahead of me” although no one turned him away except Allah”

"And spend in the way of Allah and do not cast your own hands into annihilation, and excel in doing good. Indeed, Allah loves those who excel in doing good.” (Qur'an Translated Meaning 1:195)
Allah commanded them to spend money in jihad to prepare military equipment and dispatch expeditions and soldiers. Allah also commanded them against withholding from spending in the way of Allah, which is represented by jihad. Whenever they forsake spending and jihad they become like someone who is throwing his hands into decimation. That’s because the enemy is ambushing them and once the enemy notices them staying behind from jihad, he will attack, fight, defeat, and ultimately annihilate them.

And among the signs of relapse is that you hear the call to prayer yet do not respond,
that you miss the dawn prayer and feel no concern,
that you abandon the Qur’an and do not fear,
that goodness is withheld from you and you show no care,
that you are deprived of righteous companionship and do not feel its loss,
that you commit sins and do not grieve,
and that you have no regular portion of Qur’an or remembrance yet feel no emptiness.

And those days Allah alternates among the people, so that He may make known who follows guidance and who changes and alters when the balance of power shifts: (that one nation may be superior to another is but a trial by which Allah tests you, and He will surely make clear to you on the Day of Judgment that about which you differed).
Then the morals of scholars will fade, the manners of soldiers will rise, and Allah will choose for Himself those who remain steadfast. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do—He knows the intention of every soul, knows the secret and what is even more hidden, knows motives and fears.

The first Islamic state was founded upon brotherhood between the Muhajirun and the Ansar, and upon the complementarity of their noble manners.
The glory of the Ummah will not be revived except by following that unique generation in their selflessness and modesty—those who lived by the guidance of:
“And they find not any desire in their hearts for what the others were given but give them preference over themselves even though they are in need...” (Qur’an Translated Meaning 59:9)
And:
“The unaware would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will recognize them by their mark—they do not beg people persistently...” (Qur’an Translated Meaning 2:273)
Adorning oneself with these virtues and establishing one’s inner-self upon them is among the greatest means of spiritual elevation.

Martyrdom is one of the highest ranks among the allies of Allah, and martyrs are the most distinguished and closest of His servants.
Above the rank of the truthful (al-ṣiddīqīn) lies only that of martyrdom. Allah, Glorified be He, loves to choose from among His allies those who are martyred — whose blood is shed for His love and pleasure — for they prefer His satisfaction and love over their own souls.
And there is no path to attaining this lofty rank except through the divine ordainment of the causes that lead to it, such as granting the enemy power over them.

The longing for the victory of truth is overwhelming... tyrants will be stunned at the moment of the decisive turn. Falsehood is nothing but a thin crust that soon breaks, allowing the truth to shine through. In that moment, hearts and eyes must weep. Blessed is he who was a sledgehammer for the destruction of falsehood and a brick in the building of truth.

The Purpose of Knowledge
Knowledge is not about amassing information; rather, it is a responsibility and a means for the rectification of the self and society!

A caller to Allah, no matter how sincere his intention or sound his goal is, must also ensure his means are correct. In our religion, the end does not justify the means, no matter how righteous the end may be. It is not permissible for a person to steal from the public treasury to build a mosque, or to organize sinful entertainment and claim it is a charity event whose proceeds go to the poor.

Many of the truths of the Qur'an are clear, direct, shocking, and transformative; they do not require mental exhaustion to receive, but they do require a heart that is prepared and a soul that is free [from distractions] to settle, sprout, and grow.
Look at Allah’s discourse regarding His power and His might over the deniers, His mercy and kindness toward His allies, the reality of this world and the Hereafter, truth and falsehood, and the need of all creation for Him, Glorified and Exalted be He. These are clear truths, yet they change the course of a person's heart and direct their gaze toward the heavens, struggling against the obstacles and burdens of the earth.
These truths—simple yet heavy and transformative—are difficult to receive amidst the crowdedness of life, the clamor of the soul, and the distraction of the heart.

Knowledge and Guidance
Faith is not a requirement independent of knowledge, nor is it disconnected from it. The means of attaining knowledge are not limited to physical, material tools. Because of all this, Allah described the Qur’an at times as 'Guidance for mankind' and at other times as 'Guidance for the righteous.' The first is a general Qur'anic guidance shared by all people, while the second is a specific Qur'anic guidance reserved for the people who are mindful of Allah."

Preachers vary in their methods of reminding people: some use stories and parables, some mention the terrors [of the afterlife], and others use stern, rebuking voices. Yet, nobler than all of that is awakening hearts through the Qur'an. Do you not see that Allah says regarding His Prophet what can be translated as: “Say, ‘I only warn you by the revelation.’”?

Al-Harali Al-Marrakeshi said:
“Al-Lutf (Divine Subtlety) is the concealment of matters within their opposites — for example, how Allah concealed from Yusuf the kingship beneath the guise of slavery, until the moment came when it was revealed and he said: ‘...Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills.’ (Qur'an Translated Meaning 12:99)
Al-Lutf is also the flow of Divine power in hidden ways — so hidden that none perceives it until the outcome is complete, at which point the servant realizes that all management (of affairs) belongs to Allah alone.”
“Allah, send down Your lutf and Your care upon Your devoted allies, the striving believers, and Your oppressed servants. Subtle One, Powerful One.”

The Lineage of Mary and the Falsehood of Divinity
"When the wife of 'Imran said, 'My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.' But when she delivered her, she said, 'My Lord, I have delivered a female,' and Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, 'and the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary...'" [Qur'an Translated Meaning 3:35-36].
Allah mentioned the upbringing of Isa (Jesus) by explaining the upbringing of his mother, as a clarification of the falsehood of what the Christians believe regarding him—that he is the son of Allah; Exalted is Allah far above that.
The methodology of the Qur'an when refuting and nullifying a creed is to clarify its origin and then dismantle it, so that the creed itself is dismantled accordingly. Engaging in debates over branches whose foundations are false does not lead to the truth. They claim that Isa is the son of Allah—Exalted is Allah—yet Isa has a mother, and his mother is Mary, and Mary has a mother and a father, and they have mothers and fathers leading back to Adam. So, from where did his 'sonship' to Allah come?! Therefore, Allah mentioned the marital relationship between the wife of Imran and Imran, saying: 'When the wife of 'Imran said,' as an indication of the fatherhood and motherhood of Mary."

How can despair enter a heart that has read the Qur’an and learned that sovereignty belongs to Allah alone? To Him belongs all dominion, support, authority, and power—He has no partner. Nothing escapes Him; not even the weight of an atom is hidden from His knowledge. No leaf falls without His awareness. He knows what is within the hearts. Nothing incapacitates Him. He judges with none to reverse His decree, and He punishes whom He wills and fears no consequence.
So recite the Qur’an, learn what it contains, and follow its commands—for we have no refuge except in that.
“And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord.” (Qur’an Translated Meaning 18:27)

Among understanding (fiqh) is to make Friday distinct in everything—in your daily schedule, in your acts of worship, in your appearance, in your behavior, and in your words—seeking thereby a great reward and striving to bring happiness to those around you.

Among the ways to benefit from the Qur’an is to ponder the stories of the prophets that the Qur’an narrates and repeats in various places. It is clear that these accounts are not told for amusement, but as exemplary models through which the Qur’an conveys profound implicit messages. The reader of the Qur’an should reflect on what Allah intended by these narratives—such as recognizing the servitude of the prophets and their manner of dealing with their Lord—as Ibn Taymiyyah said: “The Qur’an has informed us of the supplications of the prophets, their repentance, and their seeking forgiveness.”
Gems of Al-Sakran
The matter of balancing between benefits and harms is a domain filled with ambiguity, and it may be difficult even for the most virtuous people—just as the situation was unclear to Umar (maybAllah be pleased with him) during the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah.
Some cases within this domain may appear so narrow on the surface that the only criterion for distinction becomes the intention alone.
What adds to the complexity is that many contemporaries have used this domain as a pretext for deviation, distortion of clear principles, and justification of wrongding.
Nevertheless, one should not reject sound balances simply because of the abundance of distorters and deviants. Rather, this domain should be governed by sound knowledge and wise judgment.
