Fed hits Texas bank with cease and desist over servicing crypto firms
The United States Federal Reserve has slapped the crypto-friendly United Texas Bank with a cease and desist order citing “significant deficiencies” in the bank’s risk management systems and its dealings with its crypto clients.
In a Sept. 4 cease and desist order, the Fed said it had examined United Texas Bank in May and found issues with its corporate governance structure and “oversights” by the bank’s board of directors and senior management.

WazirX hacker moves $6M in crypto to Tornado Cash
A wallet address associated with the hacker that stole over $235 million from Indian crypto exchange WazirX has just moved $6.5 million worth of funds through the sanctioned crypto mixer Tornado Cash.
In a Sept. 3 post to X, blockchain security platform Cyvers shared that the hacker had transferred a total of 2,600 Ether — worth $6.5 million at current prices — to Tornado Cash in a bid to launder the stolen funds.

Judge Sides with Elon Musk and Tesla: $258 Billion Dogecoin Manipulation Case Dismissed
On August 29, US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein of the Southern District of New York ruled in favor of Elon Musk and Tesla, dismissing a $258 billion lawsuit against them.
The lawsuit claimed that Musk used his influence to manipulate Dogecoin’s price with tweets and public appearances, including on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

US Fed rate cut could push Bitcoin down 20%: Analysts
A long-awaited United States Federal Reserve interest rate cut could push Bitcoin down — the opposite direction of many market participants’ expectations — and possibly cause its price to dive to levels not seen since February, analysts say.
“If we were to speculate, we would caution to expect a 15-20 percent decline when rates are cut this month, with a bottom of $40-50k for BTC,” Bitfinex analysts wrote in a Sept. 2 note.

Qatar introduces regulatory framework for digital assets
The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), a business center based in Doha, Qatar, has released a comprehensive regime for regulating and creating digital assets.
The rules include tokenization processes and the legal recognition of property rights in tokens and underlying assets, custody arrangements, transfer and exchange. In addition, the framework has provisions for the legal recognition of smart contracts.
