This cub looks like spiderman climbing down this tree! All over Africa and across parts of the globe you can regularly see leopards climbing trees, but seeing African lions do this is far rarer! There are only two populations in Africa where lions regularly climb trees, and Queen Elizabeth National Park in southwestern Uganda 🇺🇬 is one of them.
Big cat biologist and cameraman @alexbraczkowski is filming a new television show for @natgeowild and showing how young cubs learn to climb trees. From jumping, falling and even backing down like this little fella these young lions are full of surprises! #follow @natgeowild and @alexbraczkowski for more tree-climbing lion adventures!

Spirit Falls is a 40-foot waterfall with serious commitment and an even more dangerous rapid just below it. For this shoot, which used very powerful battery-powered strobes, Rafa and the crew ran Spirit Falls 15 times in two days. #spiritfalls #whitewaterkayaking #washington

photo by @chamiltonjames / Charlie Hamilton James - A young Awã woman searches for small seeds on the forest floor while her new born baby looks into the canopy above. The Awã are considered to be one of the most imperilled tribes in the Amazon. Their land is shrinking, pressured by illegal logging and agriculture. Some remain in isolation, cut off from the outside world; others live in small communities within their reserves. This image was taken a few weeks ago. I had accompanied a few family groups into the forest to collect honey; the seeds on the forest floor where obviously a welcome gift as several people spent at least an hour methodically searching through the leaf litter for them. The seeds were to be used to adorn bracelets and necklaces. Shot on assignment for @natgeo in Brazil.

The World at Night project
Reaching for the stars under one of the darkest skies left on Earth; Paranal Observatory in Atacama Desert, Chile.
Nothing like the view of the Milky Way in a natural night sky, away from citylights, the beauty I enjoyed exploring for 25 years, since December 1992 when I started night sky photography during a lunar eclipse. It was a total failure which revealed the 14yr old boy, how challenging and exciting is astrophotography. I found a new hobby to release my teenagehood endless energy outdoor in nature, never knew this will be my way of life, taking me to all continents for many sleepless nights under stars.
Follow me @babaktafrshi to see more wonders of night.

Photo by @FransLanting A gaggle of locals appears puzzled by the appearance of a visitor who is looking the other way. Where penguins and people meet, interesting juxtapositions occur. South Georgia Island is home to more than 500,000 king penguins and less than a dozen humans—seasonal visitors like this man are a bit more more numerous, but still rare, and they are privileged to spend some time there. Follow us @FransLanting and @ChristineEckstrom for more impressions from the wild worlds down under.

The Ballochbuie Forest is one of the largest remaining areas of old Caledonian pine growth in Scotland, consisting of approximately 3,000 acres, it is managed with only minimal or no intervention. Bird species inhabiting the surrounding moorlands include red grouse, black grouse, ptarmigan, and the capercaillie. Principal mammal being the red deer. It's a very very special place.
