The most impactful election being held in Texas today is Houston's mayoral runoff, as that city is the country's fourth-largest and has a strong mayoral system. Houston's Independent School District will also hold its runoff today, as will the Houston Community College Board of Trustees. Today also marks the conclusion of voting in the 2023 elections for citizens of Texas' 2nd House District (located roughly between Tyler and Dallas) as well as citizens of El Paso's second city council district in a special election.
