Vladimir Putin thanked Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and the ministers for their efficient work that led the country through the Covid-19 pandemic and helped it withstand the foreign economic aggression launched against Russia in 2022.
The numerous sanctions had one primary goal <…> of destroying Russia from within, politically and especially economically. The sanctions were to create problems in work teams, cause mass unemployment in the country, and shut down companies and entire industries. Our opponents failed completely. In fact, they achieved the opposite outcome. Last year, the Russian economy grew faster than the global economy.

The United States and its satellites have, in fact, discarded the European security system, which has created risks for everyone. Clearly, a new equal and indivisible security framework must be created in Eurasia in the foreseeable future. We are ready for a substantive discussion on this subject with all countries and associations that may be interested in it.
Russia is Europe's largest economy in terms of gross domestic product and purchasing power parity, and the world’s fifth largest economy.
