🔸 The parties confirmed their mutual intent to continue strengthening the overarching strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam and expanding bilateral cooperation across different areas. They expressed satisfaction with the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached after the Russian President’s state visit to Vietnam on June 20, and with the interactions between the two countries at the international stage, including in the light of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship.

The President held a meeting with Government members

At the beginning of the meeting, the President took part, via videoconference, in opening new social facilities in several regions of Russia, including a hospital, a kindergarten, and a school. Overall, about 370 new schools and kindergartens, as well as 340 healthcare institutions are expected to be built by the end of this year as part of the national projects.

With the Construction Worker’s Day approaching, the President pointed out that Russia’s construction industry was following an upward trajectory:

It relies on cutting-edge technology, materials, skills and competences. Taken together, all these assets enable it to deliver on the most formidable challenges, while effectively catering to the needs of the Russian society and its people. As of year-end 2023, over 110 million square metres of housing were built in Russia.

🔸Almost 4.4 million families were able to improve their housing conditions, including thanks to the family mortgage programme.

🔸Over 50,000 people moved from dilapidated housing to new flats in 2024, for a total of over 720,000 over the past five years.

🔸In 2024, over 17 million people have already expressed their views as part of voting procedures to select projects for creating a people-friendly urban environment.

Let me note the courage of our construction and utilities workers who are rebuilding Donbass and Novorossiya despite all the challenges and the fact that combat action is raging there. Over the past two years, they have built or opened 20,000 facilities, including housing, roads, and major infrastructure sites people need to live normal lives.

The President was also briefed on the development of transport infrastructure, the current tourist season in Russia, efforts to clean up accumulated environmental damage, and the development of the manufacturing industry.

A monument to Admiral Fyodor Ushakov unveiled in Truda Square, St Petersburg

At the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, Vladimir Putin laid a bouquet of flowers at the monument and addressed the participants in the event:

Admiral Fyodor Ushakov won a vast array of outstanding victories, including in the major naval battles of Kerch Strait, Tendra and Cape Kaliakra, and made an immense contribution to the development of the port and fortress city of Sevastopol and our southern shipyards, as well as the lands and harbours of the entire Novorossiya region. A determined and talented naval commander and a true patriot, Ushakov never lost a single battle throughout his impressive career.

The monument to the famous Russian naval commander was erected in the square next to the Emperor Peter the Great Central Naval Museum. The monument was created by sculptor Vladislav Manachinsky and architects Anatoly and Lada Chernov.
