The elections were held in the spirit of open competition and, what is especially important, turnout was high — moreover, it was the highest in the entire history of the single election day. Russian citizens know and understand how important it is to participate in the life of the country and in the shaping of government bodies at different levels.

Vladimir Putin addressed the plenary session of the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum held at the Tauride Palace in St Petersburg

I am certain that it is women's commitment to cooperation and peace that makes your forum as successful and popular as it is. Every year, it draws more and more participants. This year, women leaders from 126 countries have come to St Petersburg. In addition, the discussions, which will involve many subjects, some of them contentious and sensitive, will be followed by an online audience of millions.

Organized by Russia's Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states, the Eurasian Women's Forum is the largest international forum bringing together women leaders from all continents. Over 1,500 people from 126 nations will be attending the forum this year.

The 2024 EAWF is themed "Women for Strengthening Trust and Global Cooperation".

The head of Rospotrebnadzor briefed the President on steps taken to ensure Russia's health security, as well as the operation of the service's unified data analytics platform. During his visit to the Sergey Kirov Military Medical Academy, Vladimir Putin had a conversation with Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Danilov who led the defense of the village of Malaya Loknya, Kursk Region

On August 8–24, the defending forces under Lieutenant Colonel Danilov's command dispatched up to eight enemy scouting parties, up to eight infantry fighting vehicles and up to 15 HMMWV vehicles, capturing one Ukrainian soldier. In order to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, the lieutenant colonel made the decision to call a strike on his position. He was wounded during the strike.

For his acts of bravery, Alexander Danilov was nominated for the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Putin's talks with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Ahmadian

We appreciate that the new President Masoud Pezeshkian's team still considers Iran's relationship with Russia a priority, and we will be expecting him in Kazan on October 22–24 for the BRICS summit. I think we will be able to find time for a bilateral meeting as well.
As I have earlier said in a telephone conversation with the President-elect, we will be happy to see him in Russia for a full-scale visit, during which we will sign a new major inter-state agreement aimed at consolidating Russia-Iran relationship at the level of a strategic partnership.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief took part via videoconference in the launch of the active phase of the Ocean 2024 strategic command-and-staff exercise

The exercise is taking place on September 10–16 in the waters of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean, Caspian, and Baltic seas.

It involves over 400 warships, submarines, and auxiliary fleet support vessels, about 120 naval aviation airplanes and helicopters, and over 90,000 troops. Ships and aircraft of the People's Liberation Army of China are also taking part in this process-oriented exercise.

The purpose of the exercise is to carry out a detailed review of the key elements dealing with the combat readiness of the Navy and Aerospace Forces command and control system and units and determine whether they can operate in a cohesive manner.
The exercise will include the combined use of precision weapons as well as other modern and advanced weaponry, taking into account, among other things, the experience gained during the special military operation. We are paying special attention to strengthening cooperation with our friendly countries. This is instrumental today amid rising geopolitical tension around the world.

The discussion focused on the social and economic situation in the region. Andrei Nikitin has in particular briefed the President on the industrial production growth in the region and the share of the defence industry therein, the implementation of pilot projects in the creation of a long-term patient care system as well as in the realm of the efforts to bolster birth rate, and on the steps taken to attract medical professionals to the Novgorod Region.

🔸The discussion focused on current issues relating to the further growth of the Russian-Brazilian strategic partnership. The two leaders reaffirmed their mutual interest in building up political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy and industrial cooperation.

🔸Vladimir Putin said Russia was ready to provide Brazil with disaster relief to cope with the wildfires raging in several regions of Brazil

🔸They also touched upon several international issues. Vladimir Putin thanked our Brazilian partners for supporting the priorities of Russia’s BRICS chairmanship and briefed the other party on preparations for the BRICS summit in Kazan scheduled for October 22–24. Both sides underscored their commitment to continuing joint work in key areas of cooperation within BRICS, including in the financial sector. They also emphasised readiness to deepen coordination both in the G20, which Brazil chairs this year, and on other multilateral platforms.

🔸Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reaffirmed Brazil’s interest in helping find solutions to resolve the Ukraine conflict, and Vladimir Putin laid out Russia’s principled assessments on this matter.

The meeting of BRICS high-level security officials is an important stage in the preparations for the upcoming BRICS and BRICS Plus/Outreach format summit to be held in Kazan, Russia, on October 22–24

This is the fourteenth meeting held by BRICS in this format. However, this time it saw the participation of delegations from the states that joined our association as full-fledged members on January 1. Moreover, a meeting was held with our colleagues from the countries that are not yet part of BRICS, but have shown a sincere interest in working more closely with our association. This was done at Russia’s initiative, and we appreciate your support.

Vladimir Putin outlined specific results of security cooperation within BRICS:

🔹the creation of an electronic registry for exchanging data on cyberattacks and cyberspace incidents;

🔹the establishment of a council on countering money laundering and financing of terrorism, which is in the final stage of the approval process;

🔹 the adoption of a common approach to combating bribery and recovering criminal assets and income.

The President of Russia also emphasised that many countries are highly interested in BRICS.

As of today, over 30 countries — 34 to be exact — have expressed an interest in taking part in our association’s activities.

Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Government members via videoconference

Tailor-made development programmes for the Russian regions and the implementation of the state development programme for the Kaliningrad Region were the main topic on the agenda. Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev delivered reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, a range of current issues were discussed, including the results of the Eastern Economic Forum, the progress in the Northern delivery, the seasonal agricultural work and the development of the agricultural sector, import substitution in agriculture, strengthening Russia's food security, and the country's potential for geological exploration.

The President also suggested that the Russian Government consider limiting exports of certain strategic raw materials.

Russia is the leading country for strategic raw material reserves, holding almost 22 percent of the world's natural gas reserves, almost 23 percent of gold reserves, and almost 55 percent of diamonds. <...> I would like you to look into some types of the goods we export to the world market in large quantities. Since exports of some goods to Russia have been restricted, perhaps we should also consider introducing certain restrictions.

The President expressed his condolences on the passing of KVN TV show host Alexander Maslyakov

Alexander Maslyakov, a man of many talents and one of those passionate and dedicated professionals who represent and define our television — has passed away. To us, his name is inextricably bound with the KVN comedy show. It was in many ways thanks to Alexander Maslyakov that KVN became a unique phenomenon of Russian culture, bringing together gifted young people and earning nationwide popularity.

Alexander Maslyakov will live forever in the hearts of his loved ones and friends, and the many fans of his work.

Alexander Maslyakov died on September 8 at the age of 82.
