Vladimir Putin held a meeting with President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo
"As concerns our bilateral relations, the re-establishment of our respective diplomatic missions will certainly be instrumental in their development. I hope that the missions will operate in full force. We established diplomatic relations a long time ago; we have a good long history. We certainly have very good potential for developing our bilateral economic ties," the President of Russia noted.
On the new Nuclear and Energy Technologies national project
Our new national project, to be launched next year, will become one of the key system-wide tools supporting Russian solutions. This project called New Nuclear and Energy Technologies will set ambitious goals, namely consolidating Russia's global leadership in the nuclear industry, <...> and ensuring our country's technological sovereignty across the entire fuel and energy sector.
The advantages of Russia's energy system
One of the largest in the world, the Russian energy system is not only able to meet the growing demand from businesses, the economy, and the social sector; it is also undergoing a qualitative transformation. Over the past 15 years, the installed capacity of Russia's electrical energy industry has grown by 18%, and the power plants have received substantial upgrades, becoming more advanced, effective and environmentally-friendly.
The President spoke on the emergence of a multipolar development model
The modern world has entered an era of fundamental and irreversible change. A multipolar development model is emerging, starting a new wave of global growth for the rest of the 21st century. And this growth will be concentrated not in Europe or North America <...> that are gradually losing their weight in the global economy, but rather in the BRICS countries and the states that are willing to join our association and consider equal cooperation with due respect for national interests the promising way to proceed.
The President's opening remarks at the meeting of the Security Council permanent conference on nuclear deterrence
A number of updates were proposed in regards to defining the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons. For instance, the draft Fundamentals [of Russia's Nuclear Deterrence State Policy] expand the group of countries and military alliances subject to nuclear deterrence, as well as the list of military threats that require nuclear deterrence measures in order to be neutralized. I would also like to particularly note that the updated document proposes that an aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear-weapon state involving or supported by a nuclear-weapon state should be considered as a joint attack on the Russian Federation by those states.
Vladimir Putin's conversation with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Numan Kurtulmuş
Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko also took part in the meeting on the Russian side.
Just recently, President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and I had a meeting in Astana. In October, we will meet again in Kazan, with a separate meeting scheduled during the BRICS summit. I would like to emphasise that Turkiye-Russia relations are progressing in all areas. <...> We are good neighbours and work for the benefit of our peoples and nations.

Russia is planning a tenfold increase in UAV production in 2024 compared to last year
About 140,000 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were delivered to the Armed Forces in 2023. This year, UAV production is set to increase significantly — specifically, almost tenfold. In addition, we are broadening the range of available unmanned systems, creating unmanned boats <...> and multi-purpose robotic platforms. Most of these will be sent to the troops at the contact line.

The President's speech at the plenary session of the Russian Energy Week International Forum. Key points:
🔸A multipolar development model is emerging today, sending a new wave of global growth for the rest of the 21st century. This growth will be concentrated in the BRICS countries, as well as the states that consider equal cooperation with due respect for national interests the promising way to proceed.
🔸Russia remains a key player on the energy market. Over the past two and a half years, Russian companies were able to pivot to other markets in terms of oil, oil products, and coal supplies. Friendly nations now account for over 90 percent of Russia's energy exports, with totals remaining virtually the same as in 2021, except for natural gas.
🔸Russia is expanding energy cooperation in both geography and scale: new trade routes are being created to fast-growing markets, including EAEC and CIS states, as well as South Eurasia countries, natural gas supplies through the Power of Siberia pipeline are being increased, and LNG exports are still on the rise.
🔸The share of foreign trade transactions denominated in the ruble is now close to 40 percent. At the same time, as part of its cooperation with the BRICS countries, Russia is working on its own payment circuit that will provide conditions for servicing all foreign trade effectively and independently.
🔸Russia is ready to strengthen the technological sovereignty of its partners in the energy sector, building full-fledged research and production chains. This will open up additional opportunities for scientists and researchers, as well as the development of machine engineering and Russia's energy sector in its entirety.
🔸Next year, Russia will launch the New Nuclear and Energy Technologies national project in order to consolidate its global leadership in the nuclear industry and ensure its technological sovereignty across the entire fuel and energy sector.

The President spoke on BRICS financial infrastructure and payment system
As part of our cooperation with the BRICS countries, we are working on our own payment circuit that will provide conditions for servicing all foreign trade effectively and independently.
Russia is ready to strengthen the technological sovereignty of its partners in the energy sector
We aim to go further, without liming our cooperation to commodity supplies. Russia is ready to strengthen the technological sovereignty of its partners in the energy sector, building full-fledged research and production chains. <...> This combination of intellectual and resource potential of different countries, as well as new levels of international cooperation will certainly open up additional opportunities for our scientists and researchers, and for the development of machine engineering, consumer services and, of course, Russia's entire energy sector.

Читать полностью…Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the State Council Presidium on export development at the Kremlin
One of the key topics on the agenda was the growing role of Russia's regions in developing the country's export potential.
🔹Next year, the newly updated International Cooperation and Exports national project will be set in motion. The solutions, steps, and policies contained in this project should be based on the foundation of Russia's export performance, economic development priorities, and objective global trends.
🔹During the first seven months of 2024, exports of non-resource-based, non-energy goods continued growing, increasing by another percent and reaching $89.8 billion. In some areas, such as food supplies, Russia has already become one of the world's leading exporters. According to the Executive Order On the National Development Goals, Russia's non-resource, non-energy exports should further increase by two-thirds by 2030 compared to 2023.
🔹All around the world, numerous countries are now tackling the creation of the so-called supranational payment infrastructure, complete with an option to use digital currencies of some central banks and digital financial assets. Such a system would be able to operate smoothly and independently of any third parties.
🔹The Russian Export Centre runs a dedicated programme known as "Made in Russia" that helps create a positive image for Russian brands. This policy should be scaled up and expanded in its scope.

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants and guests of the 7th Russian Energy Week International Forum
The theme of this year’s forum – Energy Cooperation in a Multipolar World – is extremely important and topical. It is clear that energy cooperation in the new geopolitical realities should help strengthen national economies, promote the achievement of priority social goals and improve the quality of people’s lives.
I would like to emphasise that a meeting of BRICS energy ministers, scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the forum, will be a key event of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship. The ministers will coordinate the principles of a fair energy transition shared by our countries and map out ways to strengthen BRICS’ role in the global energy dialogue.
An objective interpretation of history was the main topic of the President's briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council today
Vladimir Putin held the session via videoconference from St Petersburg.
In recent years, history has often been used in politics as a means of achieving certain political goals concerning our country. Moreover, this is often done in a very unscrupulous way.
The grassroots defence industry is on the rise in Russia
Importantly, the mass production of UAVs <...> is being ensured not just by large companies and consortiums, but also by enterprises within to the so-called grassroots defence industry. Moreover, their products are often just as reliable and efficient as those made by major manufacturers. I am aware that the Defence Ministry and the Popular Front have done much to tap into the potential of the grassroots defence industry.
During a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission, the President extended his best wishes to defence industry employees on Gunsmith Day
Our country has always taken pride in its defence industry – our weapon designers, engineers, workers, and managers who have always helped our troops defeat the enemy and made a significant contribution to Russia's security and defence capabilities by creating unique weapons and equipment.
Ahead of Gunsmith Day, the President chaired a meeting on the development of the Russian Armed Forces in the conditions of the special military operation
The meeting was held via videoconference and focused on the issues related to strengthening and enhancing the Russian Armed Forces' combat efficiency amidst the special military operation.
We pay considerable attention to providing new equipment for the Army and the Navy, which involves efforts to modernise and upgrade weaponry and vehicles already in service as well as the work to develop advanced high-tech models, with due consideration of the experience our troops have gained during the special military operation. This experience is extensively studied at our design bureaus and specialised research institutions.
