Bo Jackson: It still blows my mind how epic his legend is, having only been pro for 3-4 years (his post injury years notwithstanding)
Talk about the brightest lights burning the fastest.
As a kid who grew up in the 80s I remember Bo being a giant. His legend status, the Raiders, the Royals, Nike, etc.
He was everything.
Blows my mind that this era was 3-4 short years. That he holds no records other than being the only man to ever be named an MLB All Star and an NFL Pro Bowler.
Like tears in the rain…

Does every team have a "team song?"
I'm well aware of "Bear Down, Chicago Bears" because I'm a Bears fan, and I know of "Fly, Eagles Fly" (Philadelphia Eagles). Do other teams have a dedicated song they play after a win, or pregame?
Edit: I'm not including the Chiefs' Indian chant (whatever it's called).

Does drafting a QB and letting them “sit and learn” for a year actually work?
Patrick Mahomes is a clear example of this working out but are there many others? I see this mentioned all the time as if it’s some miracle cure to make a draft pick turn into a superstar quarterback. “That team needs to draft (insert name) and let them sit and learn for a year and they will be golden.” Does this actually work?

What if the NFL had its own version of the “Razzies”?
The NFL Honors awards last week got me thinking. What if the NFL had its own version of the “Razzies”? The Razzies, formally known as the Golden Raspberry Awards, are basically the opposite to the Oscars in cinema. The Oscars give awards to the best in cinema while the Razzies give out awards to the worst in cinema. The NFL Honors show is nice and all but I’d be much more interested to watch a NFL Razzies where the league honors those that didn’t have things go their way this past season. I’ll go ahead and give you my winners for a hypothetical NFL Razzies with the categories being a direct opposite to current NFL Honors ones:
LEAST VALUABLE PLAYER: MAC JONES (NE)
WORST COACH OF THE YEAR: FRANK REICH (CAR)
WORST ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR: MATT CANADA (PIT)
WORST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: KADARIUS TONEY (KC)
WORST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: DEVIN WHITE (TB)
WORST OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: BRYCE YOUNG (CAR)
WORST DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: TYREE WILSON (LV)
REGRESSION OF THE YEAR: JAMES BRADBERRY (PHI)
AARON HERNANDEZ NFL WORST MAN OF THE YEAR: VON MILLER (BUF)
WORST AIR PLAYER OF THE YEAR (MOST QB INTS): SAM HOWELL (WSH)
WORST GROUND PLAYER OF THE YEAR (MOST RB FUMBLES): AUSTIN EKELER (LAC)
DAVID TEPPER AWARD FOR POOR SPORTSMANSHIP: KAREEM JACKSON (DEN)
WORST MOMENT(S) OF THE YEAR: KADARIUS TONEY’S WEEK 1 DROPS (KC)
WORST FAN OF THE YEAR: ~~GUY WHO KILLED A BILLS FAN (MIA)~~ CHIEFSAHOLIC (KC)
WORST PLAYER HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2024 (GUYS WHO ENTERED BUST TERRITORY): TREY LANCE (QB), JEFF OKUDAH (CB), ISAIAH SIMMONS (LB), CLELIN FERRELL (DE), EVAN NEAL (OT), JERRY JEUDY (WR), MIKE MAMULA (DE, SILVER ANNIVERSARY OF INDUCTION), JOE PROFIT (RB, GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY OF INDUCTION)
These are my picks for these hypothetical Razzie awards. Let me know your thoughts as well as if you have any other suggestions for who should’ve won as well as any other award categories that should be added

Now that the 2023 season is behind us, what was the most frustrating thing about your team? Also, what was one bright spot?
I’d say, for the Packers, the most frustrating thing was our run defense (again). Our 3rd down defense was also pretty bad and Barry refused to utilise our players’ strengths in key situations. Also, Carlson (our rookie kicker) was very inconsistent, but I think he should have one more chance next year.
The brightest spot for the Packers, was definitely the development of Love into a very good QB. Our offense played very well in general, especially our rookie TEs and WRs.

Who’s a player that always killed your team?
I can’t tell you how many times Jeff Fisher out coached Pete Carrol during the LOB days, idk how the dude did it but he had some witchcraft on his side. Also Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, Larry Fitzgerald, Bowman, CMC, Patrick Willis, Lamar Jackson hates us for some reason, and Chandler Jones always killed my Seahawks.
I also know of the obvious ones like Brady murdering the jets, Steelers, and Bills etc, am I missing any?

Who was/is a role or depth player on your team that turned into a fan favorite?
Just off the top of my head, for the Eagles, I’d say Jason Avant. Was a solid depth WR, or if need be #3.
And I swear this man caught any pass in his vicinity. Like this pass where he pulled off the OG Beckham catch before Beckham did it.

OC Comparison of NFL DPOY to the top 5 Defensive PFF grades by year (2014-2023)
This year Myles Garrett won the DPOY which was also matched by Garrett having the highest PFF grade among defenders with 93.6. In 2022, Nick Bosa won DPOY while having the 4th best PFF Grade. PFF grades are not a be-all-end-all metric, and like every metric it has its flaws, but I think it's a good indicator of overall play. I was curious how past DPOY winners ranked amongst their peers in PFF Grade.
Five of the last 10 DPOY winners came in with the top PFF rank among defensive players (J.J. Watt 2014, A.Donald 2017, A.Donald 2018, A.Donald 2020, M.Garrett 2023)
Eight of the last 10 DPOY winners were in the top 5 for PFF scores
The median PFF rank (among defensive players only) for the DPOY is 1.5. But in 2019 there was a huge gap between the DPOY winner and PFF ranking when Stephon Gilmore was ranked 46th in PFF score of 82.8. T.J. Watt is the other player to win DPOY while falling outside of the top 5 (ranked 8th with a grade of 88.5)
Top PFF grades in the last 10 years:
Aaron Donald 95.3 in 2018 (DPOY)
Aaron Donald 94.5 in 2020 (DPOY)
Aaron Donald 94.0 in 2017 (DPOY)
Aaron Donald 93.6 in 2021
Aaron Donald 93.6 in 2019
Myles Garrett 93.6 in 2023 (DPOY)

Using math to determine the best NFL franchises (2024)
Now that the 2023 season is over, I thought it would be a fun idea to use some math and determine which NFL franchises have been the best over the years/had the biggest impact on the sport. Also, the pre-modern era is weighted a little less heavily than I had done in years past.
Here's the criteria I used:
Super Bowl win = 20 points
Conference Championship = 10 points
Conference Championship appearance = 5 points
Division Championship = 2 points
Playoff appearance = 1 point
Playoff win = 1 point
MVP = 2 points
Hall of Fame player = 1 point each
I also included pre-Super Bowl era NFL, but weighted it a little less than the modern era:
NFL/AFL championship = 12 points
NFL/AFL championship appearance = 3 points
1. Green Bay Packers - 494
2. New England Patriots - 427
3. Pittsburgh Steelers - 426
4. San Francisco 49ers - 414
5. Dallas Cowboys - 402
6. New York Giants - 344
7. Kansas City Chiefs - 317
8. Los Angeles Rams - 302
9. Las Vegas Raiders - 292
10. Chicago Bears - 291
11. Denver Broncos - 281
12. Indianapolis Colts - 279
13. Washington Commanders - 277
14. Philadelphia Eagles - 241
15. Minnesota Vikings - 220
16. Miami Dolphins - 210

29. Atlanta Falcons - 83
30. Carolina Panthers - 72
31. Jacksonville Jaguars - 40

If you wanted to see this on a per year basis, this list shows each team’s # of points divided by how many years they have played:
1. New England Patriots - 6.78
2. Dallas Cowboys - 6.38
3. San Francisco 49ers - 5.67
4. Baltimore Ravens - 5.11
5. Kansas City Chiefs - 5.03

Which fanbase is the most frustrated right now?
Quick rundown of possible answers.
Cowboys: For whatever reason, just can't get it together in the postseason.
49ers: Been about as dominant as you can be without actually winning a title. Just can't catch a break in the big game.
Steelers: Tomlin has never had a losing season. It's also been 13 years since Pittsburgh has been to the Super Bowl.
Bears: Solid roster, but this team just can't get the QB right. Also decided to keep Eberflus... it's like the front office doesn't care about winning.
Falcons: Another solid roster that's been held back by poor QB play and incompetent coaching.
Jets: Forget about Super Bowl or AFC Championship. NY fans just want something to be excited about. Whenever this team looks like it's pulling itself together, God just decides to dump on them.
EDIT: Forgot about the Bills.
