With April coming to an end, it is time to see what has this month been like for NFTs in general and for OpenSea, as the leading marketplace, in particular.
🔸Trading Volume
Although no records have been broken, Opensea NFT trading volume is rising in the second quarter of 2022, with April volume hitting $3.4 billion, a 30% increase on March.
🔸NFTs Bounce
The recent increase in NFT trading activity suggests earlier speculation that ‘NFTs are dead’ was not accurate. Based on the number of NFTs sold this month, April currently stands as the top 3 for OpenSea so far.
🔸The state of big projects
Several of the most successful NFT collections such as the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Apes, Kennel Club, and Doodles have hit new all time highs.
Some of the newer projects are doing great too, for example, Moonbirds launching this month and already claiming top 9 spot in all-time trading volume on Opensea.
Summary
Any effect the crypto markets may have had on the NFT markets appears to have subsided and now non-fungible tokens are outperforming crypto.

🔸Once your sneaker is equipped, you can start running and earning rewards in the GST utility token.
🔸Your sneaker’s attributes all contribute to its energy cap. Since the rewards supply is limited, the energy cap is a critical factor in bottlenecking distribution.
The Stepn economic model relies on two tokens:
🔸GST is the utility token used to pay out in-app rewards. The token has an unlimited supply but is burned whenever a shoe is minted, repaired or upgraded.
🔸GMT, with a maximum supply of six billion, is Stepn’s governance token and the primary store of value for Stepn investors.

On Jan 19, 2022, crypto.com released its ‘Crypto Market Sizing’ report. The analysis found that the global crypto population increased by 178% in 2021, with crypto users totaling almost 300 million.

The collection, known as CryptoKicks, is being auctioned off as non-fungible tokens (NFT) on online marketplace OpenSea. On August 10th 2021, a hacker transferred $611m-worth of Poly Network tokens to his wallets. Fortunately for Poly Network, the attacker began returning the tokens the next day, claiming he had only stolen them for fun.
🔸$547 milllion - Coinheck, 2018
In January 2018, Japanese crypto exchange Coincheck revealed that $547m worth of NEM had been stolen. At the time of the attack, Coincheck was one of the most high-profile exchanges in Japan, which was then among the biggest markets for crypto trading. It is still unknown who undertook the attack, but more than 30 people have been arrested in Japan in connection with selling the stolen assets.
