Moonbirds: the new blue chip NFT collection
With the growing popularity of NFTs in the last year, it is quite natural that 2022 would see many new launches. One of them is Moonbirds, launched April 16th.
What Is Moonbirds NFT?
Okay, so this newly launched 16-days-old NFT had already taken the crypto world by storm. The official website of the Moonbirds considers these NFTs as PFPs that are utility enabled. PFP NFTs can be considered as tickets to enter the Metaverse and have the potential of altering themselves from simple JPG files into something as big as a startup in the virtual world.

Crypto Q1 2022 recap 🔍
Calendar year quarters provide a good breakpoint to reflect on what happened. Since February until this past weekend the price of BTC had been range-bound between $37,500 and $42,500. A lot of things happened, so given the macro landscape, this was surprising.
It is even more surprising if we compare bitcoin’s price in that period to other things: S&P 500 shed 8% and long-term Treasurys dipped 7%. Meanwhile, bond markets were ravaged and we saw the price of commodities, like oil and nickel, spike aggressively.
All that said, bitcoin didn’t really do anything until last week. By March 28, BTC had brushed up against $48,000. This gain was probably catalyzed by the Luna Foundation Guard planning to buy up to $10 billion of BTC to back its UST stablecoin.
On the topic of Ethereum, it gained 23% since Feb 1. Price catalyst came on March 14 when Ethereum successfully “merged” on the Kiln testnet ahead of the blockchain’s eventual move to proof-of-stake.
While the past is not indicative of the future, understanding the past can help us anticipate what might happen. Usually bitcoin performs well in April, with an average gain of about 17% over the month. So, who knows, maybe we’ll close the book on the bear market in the next 27 days.
