🔻More than 870 scientific documents have been published with NIIMA affiliation, resulting in an outstanding H-Index of 53, in only 7 years of activity.
🔻Besides contribution in various book chapters, a book series is being published with NIIMA affiliation, entitled "Translational Immunology" book series by Elsevier. So far, eight volumes of the series are published (https://www.elsevier.com/books-and-journals/book-series/translational-immunology).

Update on autoinflammatory diseases
New Paper by USERN Interest Group
🌀Advances in immunology and genetics have led to the discovery of new pathways involved in autoinflammation, as well as several new SAIDs, including retinal dystrophy, optic nerve edema, splenomegaly, anhidrosis, and migraine headache (ROSAH syndrome), vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked autoinflammatory somatic (VEXAS) syndrome, TBK1 deficiency, NEMO deleted exon 5 autoinflammatory syndrome (NDAS), and disabling pansclerotic morphea.
🌀Progress in immunobiology and genetics has also brought forth novel treatments for SAIDs.
🌀Personalized medicine has made significant progress in areas such as cytokine-targeted therapies and gene therapies.
🌀However, much work remains, especially in measuring and improving the quality of life in patients with SAIDs.

♥️This year the 9th IFPPP will be held in the beautiful city of Yerevan, Armenia. The host proudly exhibits the top 40 best paintings. Meanwhile, the paintings are exhibited in more than 40 galleries, hospitals, academic institutes, and universities worldwide. The 12 young winners of the IFPPP will be invited to attend the Awarding Ceremony on November 8th.

Prolonged clinical remission of type 1 diabetes sustained by calcifediol and low-dose basal insulin: a case report
New Paper by USERN Interest Group
🌀Authors describe an unusually prolonged duration (31 months) of clinical remission phase in a 22-year-old Italian man with new-onset type 1 diabetes.
🌀Shortly after the disease diagnosis, the patient was treated with calcifediol coupled with low-dose basal insulin to correct hypovitaminosis D and to exploit the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of vitamin D.
🌀During the follow-up period, the patient retained a substantial residual β-cell function and remained within the clinical remission phase, as evidenced by an insulin dose-adjusted glycated hemoglobin value <9.
🌀At 24 months, a peculiar immunoregulatory profile of peripheral blood cells was detected, which may explain the prolonged duration of the clinical remission sustained by calcifediol as add-on treatment to insulin.
