•° The Government of Bangladesh had abolished 56% reservation for different categories in 2018, but on 05 June 2024 this year, the High Court there, reversed the Government's division and implemented the reservation again.
•° The Supreme Court changed the High Court's decision on 21 July 2024 reducing the reservation limit from 56% to 7%, out of which the families of freedom fighters will get 5% reservation which was earlier 30%.
•° The remaining 2% will include ethnic minorities, transgenders & differently abled.
•° The Supreme Court said that 93% of the jobs will be given on the basis of merit.
