After a preliminary investigation, we have identified an incident involving a series of declines in certain small-cap tokens.
This includes three VIP users who, within a short period, cross-sold tokens worth approximately 514,000 USDT on the spot market, as well as one non-VIP user who transferred a large amount of ACT from another platform and sold tokens worth approximately 540,000 USDT on the spot market in a short timeframe.
During the price drop, some users’ futures contracts were liquidated, which also triggered declines in other tokens.
At this stage, we have not identified any single account with significant profits.
Since these tokens are fully circulating in the secondary market, the platform is unable to intervene in any user selling behavior. We will continue to investigate this incident, and if there are any updates, Binance will further share relevant details.
Binance periodically adjusts leverage multiples based on the liquidity, market sentiment, and trading volume of all traded assets. To proactively prevent potential volatility and risks, we have taken preventive measures by lowering leverage multiples. Recently, Binance Futures has issued consecutive announcements regarding adjustments to the ACTUSDT perpetual contract. During this period, there were no unusual market movements, nor did we actively reduce any user’s positions. Market makers are a vital part of the industry ecosystem, and Binance offers a comprehensive market maker program to encourage more market makers to join, enhancing market liquidity.
Given the recent market volatility, to ensure the safety of users’ assets and reduce trading risks, Binance will make timely leverage adjustments based on market conditions to mitigate systemic risks across the trading market.
Binance also takes this opportunity to remind all users to implement proper risk management.
