Zakat ul-Fitr is obligatory to be paid on behalf of oneself and each dependent before the Eid ul-Fitr prayer. It is calculated based on 3 kg of rice or wheat, or their equivalent in other staple foods commonly consumed throughout the year.
This year we are collecting $15 per person. You are welcome to contribute more if you feel you should.
You can fulfill this obligation by transferring your payment via Zelle through Bank of America using 508-479-3319 or neilforoshan@yahoo.com, or by dropping it in the designated boxes at the Center (130 Newton Street, Weston, MA) on the day of Eid. Please clearly indicate whether your contribution is for Zakat Ul-Fitr Sayyed or Zakat Ul-Fitr Non-Sayyed.
