Imām Muslim -raḥimahullāh- reported in his Ṣaḥīḥ (1164) from the ḥadīth of Abū Ayyūb Al-Ansarī -raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhu- that the Prophet ﷺ said:

من صام رمضان ثم أتبعه بست من شوال كان كصيام الدهر

Whoever fasts Ramaḍhān and then follows it with six days of Shawwāl will be (rewarded) as if he had fasted the entire year.

How does fasting 1 month + 6 days equate to fasting an entire year?

The scholars explained that good deeds are multipled tenfolds based on Allāh's saying:

مَن جَاۤءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ عَشۡرُ أَمۡثَالِهَا

Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded tenfold.
[Sūrah Al-An‘ām 160]

That means:
1 month x 10 = 10 months

6 days x 10 = 60 days (2 months)

10 + 2 (months) = 12 months (1 year).

ZAKAT UL FITR 💰

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنهم):

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prescribed the sadaqah relating to the breaking of the fast as a purification of the fasting from empty and obscene talk and as food for the poor. If anyone pays it before the prayer (of 'Id), it will be accepted as zakat. If anyone pays it after the prayer, that will be a sadaqah like other sadaqahs."

📚: Sunan Abi Dawud 1609 | Hasan

Narrated Ibn Umar (رضي الله عنهم):

"Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) enjoined the payment of one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the Eid prayer."

One Sa' = 3 Kilograms approx.

📚: Sahih Bukhari 1503

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه):

"We used to give one Sa' of meal or one Sa' of barley or one Sa' of dates, or one Sa' of cottage cheese or one Sa' of Raisins (dried grapes) as Zakat-ul-Fitr."

Roman urdu: "Jab daudta hua ghoda ye samajhta hai ke manzil qareeb hai to wo apni poori taqat laga deta hai taake race jeet sake. To ghode se zyada samajhdar ban jao! Beshak a’maal ka daromadaar anjaam par hota hai. Agar tumne Ramadan ka aaghaz achay tareeqay se nahi kiya, to ho sakta hai tum uska ikhtitam behtareen tareeqay se kar lo."

O son of Adam, have you truly earned any wealth but what you ate and consumed, or clothes put on and wore out, or spent in charity so it remained?”

Roman urdu: Iblees ne kaha: “Aey mere Rab! Jis tarah Tu ne mujhe gumraah kiya hai, main zaroor unhein duniya mein khubsurat bana kar dikhāoonga aur sab ko gumraah kar dunga, siwāe un bandon ke jo Tere mukhlis hain.” Allah ne farmaya: “Yeh hai seedha raasta jo meri taraf le jata hai. Mere sachche bandon par tera kuch zor na chalega siwā un gumrah logon ke jo teri pairwi karte hain. Aur jahannum sab un logon ka wa’ada hai.” Uske saat saat darwāze honge, aur un mein se har darwāza ke liye ek hissa muqarrar hai. Beshak muttaqī log jannaton aur chashmon mein honge. (Unse kaha jayega:) “Tum salamat aur pur-aman halat mein in mein dākhil ho jao.”
