Sunan Ibn Majah 1727

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back.”

*Negative Thinking*

“Allah does not like negative thoughts to be voiced except by those who have been wronged. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”
- 4:148

Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the Prophet and said to him, ‘We find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of.’ He said, ‘Are you really having such thoughts?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is a clear sign of faith.’”

(Narrated by Muslim, 132 from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah).

Al-Nawawi said in his commentary on this hadith (prophetic tradition): “The Prophet’s words, ‘That is a clear sign of faith’ mean, the fact that you think of this waswas as something terrible is a clear sign of faith, for if you dare not utter it and you are so afraid of it and of speaking of it, let alone believing it, this is the sign of one who has achieved perfect faith and who is free of doubt.”

As we prepare for the blessed days of Eid al-Adha, let's revive the beautiful Sunnah of reciting the Takbeer.

The Takbeer (Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil Hamd) is a powerful declaration of Allah's greatness and praise.

While it is Sunnah to recite it frequently during the days of Eid, particularly from the morning of Arafah until the afternoon of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah (the Days of Tashreeq), its importance is highlighted throughout this blessed period.
Meaning: "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah. And Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise."

Let's fill our homes, mosques, and streets with the majestic sound of Takbeer, celebrating the greatness of Allah!

Hadith on Spending on Parents:
Narrated Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When a Muslim spends something on his family intending to receive Allah's reward it is regarded as Sadaqa for him." (Sahih al-Bukhari)
And in another narration:
Narrated Thawban: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The best dinar a man spends is a dinar he spends on his dependents, and a dinar he spends on his riding animal in the Way of Allah, and a dinar he spends on his companions in the Way of Allah." (Sahih Muslim)
These hadith highlight that spending on one's family, which includes parents, is not merely an obligation but a highly rewarding act of charity in the sight of Allah, even more so than some other forms of charity. When parents are in need, financially supporting them becomes an even greater obligation and a pathway to immense blessings.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Maximize your rewards by:


 * Fasting, especially on the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah), which expiates sins for two years!

 * Increasing in Dhikr (remembrance of Allah), like Tasbeeh (SubhanAllah), Tahleel (La ilaha illallah), and Takbeer (Allahu Akbar).

 * Reciting Quran, giving charity, and making abundant Du'a (supplication).

Let's seize this blessed opportunity to draw closer to Allah!
