I think there’s some confusion, so let me break it down clearly:
1. The yield for staking OGN comes from protocol fees.
2. Those protocol fees are used to buy back OGN from the market.
3. The OGN bought back is then distributed as rewards to OGN stakers.
4. Right now, the variable staking APY is around 14%, but it can increase if our products generate more fees over time.

Staking had a different system back then, but since the buyback program was implemented with 100% of the fees going toward it, things have changed significantly. That was introduced last July, so it hasn’t even been a full year yet.
