I’d like to share a recent incident that happened just last weekend.

I was traveling with a close friend—someone I trust, as he has never given me any reason to doubt his loyalty. We were heading to a bigger city mainly for clubbing, although we had other plans before going to the club.

Before we entered, we had a good time, but that's not the main focus of my story.

When we got into the club, we were disappointed. It wasn’t lively at all, and there weren’t many people inside.

After an hour and a half, we decided to leave and headed toward the lockers to grab our things.

As we were opening the lockers—I needed to get my coat and bag—we heard a confrontation happening at the back, about 1.5 meters away.

My friend said, “Let’s leave, man—a fight is about to break out.”

However, I still needed to retrieve my bag from a locker near the commotion, so I told him, “Let me get my bag and then we can leave.”

Apparently, right after he said “let’s leave,” he went outside without waiting for me. I didn’t notice because I was focused on getting my bag and also curious about what the guys were arguing about.

Within a few seconds, the situation escalated. Three guys surrounded one guy, and soon they started exchanging punches brutally. By the time I got my bag, they had thrown the lone guy to the ground and were continuously kicking him.

That’s when I intervened to stop the fight—otherwise, the guy on the ground would have been seriously hurt. Plus, he was blocking my way to the exit :D.

After I managed to separate them, the three guys ran outside and were never seen again.

I helped the injured guy up, checked that he was okay, and then went outside to find my friend. He was waiting there.

I asked him why he didn’t wait for me, and he could only say, “Why’d you stay inside?” My reason was simple: I needed to get my bag, and honestly, I was curious about the fight.

Still, I understand that maybe waiting inside wasn’t the best decision on my part. But I couldn’t accept the fact that my friend didn’t just wait for me inside where the fight was about to break out. Personally, I would never leave my friend in such a situation—I’d stay and make sure nothing happens, and then we’d leave the club together.

After this, I don’t feel the same about this guy.

I guess no matter how much fcking psychoanalysis you do, you really only know when shit goes south.

What do you guys think? Am I wrong to feel this way, or did my “friend” make the right decision by waiting outside?

Something I’ve been meditating on is the fact that most people either live in the past or the future—they don’t live in the present.

And this is advice for me as well.

We’re always thinking about the past.

The things we should have done.

The things we did right.

We think about the times we lived a lot.

The times we loved a lot.

The times we had sleepless nights.

Then we’re always thinking about the future.

What life will look like.

Who will be with us.

What kind of friends we’ll have.

Where we’ll be living.

But when do we ever live in the present?

When was the last time you sat somewhere, closed your eyes, and took a deep breath?

When was the last time you did that?

Gratitude.

Do you practice it consciously?

How often do you give your thanks to God/Universe for some.

As I was I praying before my workout, giving thanks to the Lord for his strength, endless energy and love, I could literally feel my soul and heart light up on fire.

Most people think that if you pray/wish for more from God/Universe, that you'll receive more.

That's just a weak positioning and weak frame.

You'll receive more by utilising and being thankfull for what you already have.

As MR. wrote in his day 12 of the challenge - scarcity is not real.

By practicing gratitude towards a higher energy source you're strengthening your abundance.

And I don't give thanks only for the good, I give thanks for everything.

Even the "bad" and hard.

Because all the bad and hard in life turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
