New York Attorney General Letitia James Announces She Will Host Family Event "Transgender Story Reading Hour" in New York City
James announced the event on Instagram and Twitter and the event will feature drag performers reading books to children.
The event will be sponsored by several organizations, including the Pride Center and the Queens Public Library. The poster for the event invites "families with children."
Other lawmakers hosting the event with James include State Senator Brad Hoyleman.
Hoyleman is an openly gay politician and a leading supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, he repeated the claim that "trans women are women" and sponsored a bill making New York a "safe haven state" for children seeking gender reassignment for medical reasons.
