Insert query is executing even though if passing null value, have given constraint in that field still.
Читать полностью…By manual trigger of the insertion query and hardcoding the parameters, able to populate the data in the table, but unable to do so when called the function and passing expected parameters. Any idea what's not working

ok i will read about this extension. do you have any tutorial showing how to do this using pg_basebackup?
Читать полностью…If you are using v17, pg_createsubscriber. There is also the equivalent in pglogical for previous versions. It transforms a physical replica into a logical replica.
Читать полностью…I understand the concept of Logical/Physical.
Just asked actual question ...
no point in making me feel insecure about my understanding
so whats the best way to make the replication?
in case the primary is big the initial sync can take long time no? what options i have then?
what's the correct way to set logical replication for production?
- pg_basebackup with stream mode and then set replication with copy_date=true?
-pg_dump and then set replication with copy_date=true?
will this sync the tables all over again or just the delta

Читать полностью…Hi All, any help here would appreciate it.
Have written an insert query to a table with join between 2 tables based on parameters from both tables. Able to populate data when manual insertion is triggered. But somehow unable to populate the same value using function trigger by passing the common parameters.

thats cool
do you know if in previous version (10,13,15) its possible to make the initial copy out of pg_basebackup copy rather than sync everything using logical replication?
Don't. Logical reolication requires a lot of concepts and algorithmic work to function. You're not even close to understanding them.
So, just don't.
Or, maybe, start training with small examples and simple abstract tutorials on that topic.
Also, I should note that logical replication requires you to be an architect and programmer of the programming system that uses it. It cannot just do useful work for a third-party database like physical replication.
