Documentation was a virtue during boomer days but if you write documents now then you will be easily replaced by AI agent.
Читать полностью…Yeah. Sure. I know a story of one: he didn't stop at a special relativity theory, and published that freaking general one!
Читать полностью…Apparently, to their opinion, they don't write documentation
Читать полностью…Long running tx, abandoned replication slots etc prevent dead tuple removal by autovacuum. This is known behavior. You need to prevent something that is causing replication slots to be abandoned and that's in your logs.
https://www.cybertec-postgresql.com/en/reasons-why-vacuum-wont-remove-dead-rows/
Plus, I need to understand the RC of the problem to better understand why this is even happening and troubleshooting accordingly
Читать полностью…I already exactly know the solution to this, simply to check all the above mentioned, or just drop the replication slot
Читать полностью…that's a temporary solution that I have mentioned. In the logs, it says your replication slot is far behind and it gives the xmin number and it hints u to close any opening transactions, although I don't have any opening transaction or idle in transaction or even opening connections or pool exhaustions or any prepared statements in process...
so actually here xmin when it appears in my log, this is simply preventing vacuuming from working causing unable to clean dead rows.....
Still I'm so far from wraparound transactions issues, so no big deal, but I wanna know why from time to other, it keeps on arising?
Читать полностью…pgcenter's author said - there aren't builds for arm.
Читать полностью…I'm pretty sure that was meant in a generic way, not addressing anyone in particular, esp. nobody in this chat.
And while it's certainly not a fair statement (and not true), it aimed at a _cultural_ thing, which I'd not rate as _racist_.
However:
Do you know what's the worst thing about people called Albert? They all generalise. And they all have terrible prejudices. All of them. Not a single exception...
if ur directing this to me, that's totally racism.... Plus, I'm not even Indian....
Plus, what's wrong with Indians?
I have a question, why those Indian never write documentation?
Читать полностью…but still it may appear and maybe sometimes, I won't be know that it is happening, so this is not an optimal solution to the problem
Читать полностью…Answer is in your postgres logs. Try to find why there was an abandoned replication slot.
Читать полностью…Hello guys,
just wanna is there a permanent solution if any one got into the problem of xmin frozen XID of the replication slot?
I'm having patroni cluster of 3 nodes, one is leader, other is syn replica, and other is just replica....
when I'm checking out the replication slot of the sync replica, it got frozen like the xmin is not changing....
I have already solved the solution of droping the replication slot and create it again, so it sync with leader, but still I don't know the root cause of this.... so what is the permanent solution to this?
PS.
1) I have already enabled autovaccumed
2) I have no bloats
3) I have no opening transactions
4 I habe no idle in transactions or anything
5) the network speed is fast and everything fine...
pls if u have relevant answer to this pls let me know....
thanks
Hi, is there a version of pgcenter that supports ARM systems?
Читать полностью…Asked for clearing not braindumps. Oracle certifications are easiest to cheat and mostly meaningless unless you become Oracle ACE etc.
Читать полностью…Why people try to do EDB certification? It's just one company and Postgres is much bigger than any one company. I don't ever get Postgres job postings that specifically demand EDB certificate so don't see any significant benefit.
Читать полностью…I haven't the foggiest what you mean tbth. Clear the certificate?!?
Читать полностью…The server was unresponsive for 4 hrs, and there is no log in any components for that time i.e. syslog, postgresql log, pgbackrest log..... Nowhere
When we restart the server from serial console we saw some "watchdog:bug: soft lockup..," logs only and not able to conclude anything from this
