The quality of our mind state in nowness is not dependent on what anyone else thinks, says or does. It does not depend on external events. The quality of the mind state will be defined by the conditioned perceived unhelpful reaction of the confused self referential mind or the compassionate response of its consciously aware counterpart.

The sooner you realize that your outer purpose cannot give you lasting fulfillment, the better. When you have seen the limitations of your outer purpose, you give up your unrealistic expectation that it should make you happy, and you make it subservient to your inner purpose.

When encountering concepts, we might transmit them through some unrealistic filters. We may call this labelling. Making labels for concepts of past, present or future, causes the mind to worry. In this state, we would not be able to live in this moment which is the source of happiness.

A good suggestion is that we let it go. This is because we don't move on in life unless we have willing to let go of all the pain we suffer in the past.
The best method to practice this, is to let nature take its role. As we often say, it is to adjust our mindset and act in accordance with circumstances.

The nature of any institution is to ensure the institution maintains control. Institutions are born from, developed within and controlled by those who are attached to group thoughts and behaviours. Even those institutions that were created to serve the community, become self serving hotbeds of power and control. Rationality, based in equanimity and kindness, flies out the window when the institutional mindset finds itself challenged. Any challenge is perceived to be a threat to the mentality of the confused and conditioned self referential mind that is seeking to protect its dominance at all costs. There are no concessions to be made. Everything is black and white. There are no grey areas. Institutionalism is an example of an extreme and therefore unhelpful view. Human existence and experience is not black and white. For the most part it is an inter-related greyness. Finding the middle way solution, that is based in actuality and not dominated by the emotions of subjective reality is the way to resolve issues without worrying about it.
