Texas attorney general sues over US airport and plane mask mandates
Ken Paxton is suing the Biden administration over federal requirements that masks be worn at US airports on airplanes. (Reuters)
Paxton and Texas Republican Beth Van Duyne filed the lawsuit against the CDC mask rules which have been in place since February 2021.
They are expected to expire March 18. However, the mandates have already been extended multiple times.

Patients treated outdoors amid Hong Kong’s surge in Omicron COVID-19 cases
Patients were treated outside the Caritas Medical Centre in Hong Kong on Tuesday following a surge in COVID-19 cases linked to the Omicron variant.
The local medical emergency units have been overloaded by the fifth wave of the pandemic which has led to over 8,000 new cases since the end of December in the city and special administrative region of China.
On Tuesday, authorities reported more than 1,600 confirmed cases and 5,400 suspected infections.
