Nearly $6 billion in U.S. funding for Ukraine will expire by the end of September unless Congress acts to extend the Pentagon’s authority to send weapons from its stockpile to Ukraine. The Biden administration has requested Congress to include this funding in any resolution passed before the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30. If Congress fails to act, the Pentagon is exploring alternatives, but $5.8 billion in presidential drawdown authority will expire. Another $4 billion in longer-term funding through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative remains available until 2025.

According to Russian sources, Ukrainian units managed to breach the border near Novyi Put' and infiltrated the areas south of Veseloe (about 3 km from the border). Most likely going eastward along the treeline.

We can confirm that Russia retook two settlements so far: Krasnooktyabr'skoe and Komarovka. Russian forces have approached Vishnevka, but so far presence inside the settlement has not been confirmed. Ukrainians were still seen present in Snagost'.
According to Russian sources:
”Greetings, yesterday we repulsed several Ukrainian attacks near Sergeevka, Kursk region, today they continue to come, the situation is tense, but we are holding on. Victory will be for us!”
Sergeevka is just south of Medvezh'e where Ukrainian attacks and a breaktrough of the border was reported.
Starting tomorrow, September 12, foreign services will cease operating in Russia due to U.S. Treasury sanctions prohibiting the supply of software and IT services to anyone in the country.
