💥 Insurgents killed up to nine soldiers of the Mozambican Defense and Security Forces in an attack on Mucojo village in the Macomia district of Cabo Delgado province on 26 December. At least one armoured vehicle was also burned and two others were possibly stolen. Local people mostly fled to Macomia town or by boat to Matemo island. Forces of the Southern African Development Community reinforced the area the next day. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.

By the grace of God Almighty, the soldiers of the Caliphate attacked a joint barracks of the Mozambican and (SADC) Crusader forces, in the village of Pangan, in the Macomia region of Cabo Delgado, last Tuesday, with machine guns, which led to the death of a member. The Mujahideen also set up an ambush for the members fleeing from the barracks. On the road (Mukugu - Macomia), they targeted them with machine guns, which led to the killing of 3 members and the rest of them fled, and praise be to God.
