Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. [27] For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. [29] Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

So many have looked for the fulfillment of these things, and thought they would live to see the return of Jesus! Because of this scoffers abound that say — He’s not coming back; or He’s not coming back anytime soon! Are you among those scoffers?

Peter describes this time!

2 Peter 3:3-4,8-15
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. [8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The LORD is not slack concerning HIS promise (of coming back), as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our LORD is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you.

The only reason the LORD delays His promises return is that those not born again can come to salvation! If you are not born again through His Sin, Jesus Christ, He’s waiting for you!

But beloved, though the LORD is patient there will come a day when you will have waited a day too late, or a moment too late! Don’t delay! Accept Jesus as your Savior today!

Are We Nullifying The Word Of God?

In Mark Jesus tells the Pharisees and scribes that they have set aside the commandments of God in order to observe their own traditions!

By doing this they were placing a higher value on man’s words and teachings than on God’s Word!

Mark 7:8-9
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And He said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

The phrase is rendered “you nullify the word of God” in other versions. The Greek for this is — ἀκυροῦτε τὸν λόγον τοῦ Θεοῦ, and means to render God’s Word ineffective, invalid, or useless!

So, Jesus is saying that the Pharisees’ traditions and teachings were so inconsistent with the Word of God that they were essentially canceling out or overriding God’s commands!

When we look at our own lives and the church today we see that often the same thing is taking place!

We follow what the world, or even what some religious leader says is right, instead of looking to the Word of God as our final authority!

Jesus was telling them that their tradition had become a way to circumvent God’s clear commands, rendering them ineffective!

He was warning them of the danger of allowing human traditions, teachings, or interpretations to supersede or contradict the clear teachings of Scripture!

Jesus is saying that whenever human traditions or teachings contradict or override Scripture, they are effectively canceling out God’s Word! When God’s Word is set aside, spiritual error will follow!

Jesus told them they were hypocrites for doing this! They said the loved God with their words, but they didn’t love Him enough to look to His commandments alone! He said they were worshipping Him in vain!

Mark 7:6-7
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

If we truly love the LORD, we will keep His commandments!

John 14:23-24
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My Words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him. He that loveth Me not keepeth not My sayings: and the Word which ye hear is not Mine, but the Father's which sent Me.

In Revelation Jesus tells us what happens to those who add to or subtract from God’s Word!

Revelation 22:18-19
For I testify unto every man that heareth the Words of the prophecy of this Book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book: And if any man shall take away from the Words of the Book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Scripture should be our authority! That sounds so simple, yet it is a major issue in the church today!

We must know His Word in order to walk in His Word, and not be taken captive by the teachings of man!

Colossians 2:18
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Jesus and the disciples always pointed to Scripture as the final authority, saying “It is written”. The Words, “It is written” appear 63 times in the New Testament alone, and 80 in both the Old and New Testaments! Here are just a few examples! Jesus overcame the temptations of Satan in the wilderness by the written Word of God!

Matthew 4:3-4
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If Thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

He’s Waiting For You!

Have you wandered from Your Father? Or perhaps you’ve never realized the great love He has for you and your inheritance in Him!

He is waiting on you! Waiting and watching for you to come to your senses like the son in this parable that Jesus told about the love and mercy of our Father in Heaven!

You see, this son had taken his inheritance and squandered it like so many have done! But His father didn’t stop loving him and longing for him to come home!

Luke tells what happened when this son came to his senses, and what his father’s response was!

Luke 15:20-24
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

What joy there was in his father’s heart at the repentance and returning of his son!

It reminds us of other stories that Jesus told of God’s mercy, grace, forgiveness, and long suffering towards His children!

Luke 15:4-1
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

We were all lost sheep, when He called us to Himself! Have you returned to your Shepherd? Or have you come to Him, but have strayed?

He’s waiting for you to return!

1 Peter 2:25
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

May we have the heart of the son in Jesus’ story!

Luke 15:17-19
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

This hymn depicts how our Father is waiting for us!

‘Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling; Calling for you and for me. See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching; Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home, you who are weary, come home. Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading; Pleading for you and for me? Why should we linger and heed not His mercies; Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing; Passing from you and from me. Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming, Coming for you and for me.

Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised; Promised for you and for me! Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon; Pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home, you who are weary, come home. Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home!

You are the only reason He delays His coming back!

Hi Dave, Just an update on my Sciatica Nerve Pain after our Prayers with continual FAITH IN GOD!

I asked for your healing prayer in September of 2023 when my pain was at its worst. I couldn't even put weight on my right leg with that shooting nerve pains 24/7 let alone doing any kind of walking.
MRI dated Sep of 2023 confirmed I had a bulging disc directly pressing against the Descending Nerve Root of the S1 nerve.

The symptoms gradually improved after your three separate prayers when I updated you as to my conditions.
I recently had another MRI done about a week ago...and the result is simply a miracle. The Bulging Disc completely reversed and the S1 Nerve is completely normal.
My surgeon cannot believe it and I told her God Healed Me!

God is Great and Praise the Lord!!
I am back to do my daily hourly walk.

Paul wrote these words about the day of the LORD! Though the church at Thessalonica knew about this day, he felt the need to remind them! The LORD wants to remind us today as well!

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the LORD so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our LORD Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

You see beloved, we are to be able to discern the times! We are not in darkness if we know His Word, and are soberly watching for these signs to be fulfilled! And we can answer yes to this question! Yes — He will find me faithful!

Luke 18:8
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?

Discerning The Time!

Are you watching for the signs of Jesus’ return? Or are you so caught up with your life, and the things of this world that you have quit watching, if you ever were?

Luke 12:54-56
And He said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

The Word of God says that many will be caught off guard, and unprepared when He returns! So much so, that the question is even asked — Will He find faith in the earth!

What does the world around us look like? Does any of this sound like our world today, or does it sound like the people around you? Or — Does it sound like you?

2 Timothy 3:1-7
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Do you see people in love with the pleasures of this world? Are we in love with them ourselves? We are not to love this world, or become friends with the things of this world!

1 John 2:15-19
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Do you know that loving the world and the things in it, is considered by God to be spiritual adultery? It’s not something to be taken lightly beloved! It’s certainly not something we should boast about! Doing so makes one an enemy of God! I don’t want God to see me as His enemy, do you?

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

We are given so many signs to watch for throughout God’s Word! Let’s look at what Matthew says! Read all of chapter 24 when you can!

Matthew 24:5-17,21-24,27,29-31
For many shall come in My Name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My Name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Paul instructs believers to test their own instruction according to the written Word of God, implying that they should compare what they were teaching to Scripture.

1 Corinthians 14:37
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the LORD.

Paul also warns against following human wisdom when he reminds Timothy of what he had been taught through Scripture, and the preeminence of Scripture!

2 Timothy 3:15-17
And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

In order to be found faithful, we must examine our lives often to see if we are living according to the Word of God, or the teachings of man!

We have been given the Word of God as our guide for living, and made stewards of this great Treasure! Will we be found faithful?

1 Corinthians 4:2
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

We are in a battle, but we have been given everything we need to win and stand fast to the end!

Let’s close with the words Paul began with in Ephesians 6, about what we would need for this battle against spiritual forces of wickedness!

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Hear The Word Of The LORD!

Our Country, our world, and the people who say they belong to the LORD, are no different from the people the LORD rebuked and warned through His prophet Isaiah!

They continue going through all the outward motions of worshipping the LORD, but they have gone backward away from His Word!

They desire and seek the blessing of the LORD upon their land and their people, and upon themselves, while the blood of innocent children is on their hands!

They seek for God’s blessing and act as if they love Him, while accepting, promoting, and practicing the very sins that brought the harsh judgment of the LORD on Sodom and Gomorrah — Homosexuality and sexual perversion!

Hear the Word of the LORD through the Words of Isaiah! Repent and God will heal you!

But if not don’t cry out for Him to save you when His judgement comes, for it will surely come!

LORD, send a Spirit of conviction upon Your children! May we repent of our sin and the sins of this Country and world! May we stand up and speak out against these abominations! May we seek Your face and worship You in all humility of heart and earnestness of spirit! May we grieve over the sin and rebellion against You in Jesus Name!

Hear the Word of the LORD!

Isaiah 1:2-31
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me. The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, My people doth not consider. Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

Except the LORD of Hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. Hear the Word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the Law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

When ye come to appear before Me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread My courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto Me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts My soul hateth: they are a trouble unto Me; I am weary to bear them.

And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide Mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before Mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
