What Brings The Curse Of God?

There are so many blessings promised in the Word of God! Everyone wants to believe that they will receive all of these blessings!

But in order to receive His blessings, we must walk in obedience to His commandments!

In Deuteronomy 28 the Word of God tells us about all the blessings He would give His people who walked in obedience to Him!

Deuteronomy 28:1-2
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

But as there are many blessings, there are also many curses spoken about. What brings about these curses — Disobedience!

Deuteronomy 28:15
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

A person or a nation who refuses to revere His Word, to tremble at His Word, and to walk in obedience to it will not be blessed!

In Isaiah 59 we are told what will cause the LORD to turn away from us — Our sin!

Isaiah 59:1-3
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

So many who claim they are the people of God, and love Him have hands defiled with blood today! The blood of millions of unborn children offered to Molech in the name of choice!

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

If you say that you are His, that you love Him, yet you don’t keep His commandments, the Word says that you are a liar, and the truth is not in you!

“If you say” — If, such a small word with eternal implications! What does it mean? If is often used in the Word of God as a condition! There are over 500 occurrences of the word in the New Testament alone!

John 15:6
If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [10] If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. [14] Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

No one is perfect or keeps His Word perfectly all the time and the LORD knows this! But when we do sin what is our response when confronted by our sin?

We need Nathan’s today who will confront those walking in sin and rebellion to the LORD! I urge you to read all of this passage. Even though David confessed his sin, he would still experience the consequences of his sin! God forgave him, but his own sin led to curses!

2 Samuel 12:1,7, 9-14
And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. [7] And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man.

His Prayers For Us!

Sometimes in life it will feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders! David experienced this, as did so many others we read about in God’s Word!

Psalm 42:5
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.

David knew he must put his hope in God, and his eyes on Him at such times! He reminded himself of the faithfulness of God!

The LORD knows what you’re going through; He knows what’s happening in this world! He sees the beginning and the end!

There are so many Words of comfort in the Bible, but how wonderful to know that He prayed for us, and He still is praying for us!

During a difficult time this hymn written in the 1800’s brought such comfort to me. It is a beautiful reminder of His care for us! We can bring every care to Him and He promises that He will watch over it! He already knows our cares, but He tells us to bring them to Him!

1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

I Must Tell Jesus!

There’s a beautiful prayer and blessing found in the book of Numbers!

Numbers 6:24-26
May the LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

In John 17 you can read the beautiful prayer Jesus prayed for us! He prayed not that we be taken from the world, but that we would be kept from the evil of this world; that we would be set apart by His Word!

We see this also in the story of Solomon! How ironic that Solomon, who wrote that before a fall there is pride, succumbed to the very sin of pride!

The LORD Uses Whomever He Chooses!

We see in the story of the rebellion of God’s people that He uses whomever He pleases for His purposes!

Because of their continued sin, and rebellion against Him, the LORD used the wicked king, Nebuchadnezzar to carry His stiff necked people into captivity in Babylon!

Jeremiah tells God’s people that He is giving them into Nebuchadnezzar’s hand! He calls Nebuchadnezzar His servant!

Even a wicked king can serve the purposes of the LORD!

Jeremiah 27:4-10
And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters; I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto Me. And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

Not only will God’s people serve Nebuchadnezzar, but all nations would serve him! Any people that would not serve him would be punished by the LORD!

Jeremiah 27:7
And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him. And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

But the false prophets told the people of God, don’t worry, this isn’t going to happen! Don’t listen to Jeremiah, for surely good things are coming for you, and you aren’t going to go into captivity for your sin!

Here is what the Word of God through Jeremiah’s to His stubborn people about these false prophesies!

Jeremiah 27:9-10
Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.

Read the rest of Jeremiah 27 when you are able to hear the whole story!

Let’s turn to Daniel to see what happened while he and his friends were in captivity! In the second year of king Nebuchadnezzar’s reign he had a very troublesome dream that none of the wise men in his kingdom could interpret. He was ready to have all the wise men killed, Daniel among them!

Daniel and his friends prayed that the LORD would give Daniel the interpretation!

Daniel 2:13,16-23
And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain. Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation. Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the Name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

Please notice what Daniel tells us about those in authority! It is the LORD who sets up and removes leaders! We may think today, that it is us who decides who our leaders will be, but it’s not! That’s why we can trust God that the leader He wants to be in power, will be in power!

We see this again later in Daniel!

The break through was that my spine suddenly starting aligning. I asked GOD to give me an adjustment the night before. I was so surprised and started crying. I thanked Him over and over. I'd also had an emotional healing last week.

Good Morning, Dave,

I wrote to you some months ago about an upcoming Shoulder Replacement Surgery. I am one of those sensitive red-headed people who feel everything, and I have developed a fear of pain. I put off the surgery because I was praying that God would do a creative miracle. Surgery became inevitable, but I would not go through with it until I reached out to you. I also did emotional healing for the fear of pain. Surgery was August 1. I am passed my 6-week "recovery" period, now.

I was elated when you replied to me that you would pray for a "pain free recovery." We had family prayer meeting the night before surgery at my house with my two daughters and my sister-in-law and my husband. We came into agreement with your prayer for me. My daughter, Kimberly, said she felt things moving inside my shoulder area while she was laying on hands. As she prayed on... a bone in my shoulder actually shot up under her hand! We both jumped and let out an "OH!"... We were so startled! When Jillian took my hand, it felt like an electrical buzzing. I knew God was doing something!

The first day, when the nerve block started wearing off, My family kept me on top of the usually expected upcoming pain by giving me the maximum prescribed pain killers. I started to get side effects. One, being woozy. Then stomach issues.

I decided to taper down until there was no pain left. The first three days Are the hardest through this type of painful surgery. Mid-day on the second day, I had stopped all drugs... Absolutely no shoulder pain!!!! ( just a little soreness from bruising, stitches, but ignorable.)

I had color in my face and good energy. My daughter kept saying, You don't even look sick!"

My therapists were telling me to expect pain and that the nerve block had not worn off yet. I insisted that it had, already and that God did this for me. I told her about Praying Medic, and your prayer. At the next appointment, fiive days later, she asked me How I did, getting over the "hump" - worst pain period. There was no "hump". No pain. She had to admit it is a miracle. I was "acing 'all their exercises painlessly, and they were amazed. According to my paperwork it's supposed to hurt. Haha! Nope! My surgeon is delighted. He says that Im tough. That's a joke! ! His assistant believes it is God.

This miracle is the talk of the Surgery PT Center! Everyone there believes! They cannot deny it. They have never seen anything like this before.

Jesus knew the struggles we would face! He knew the battles up ahead, and the fight against evil!

When Jesus prayed for us, He asked the Father to keep us from evil! He knew we couldn’t be salt and light without being in the world, but He also knew we could lose our saltiness and light by becoming friends with the world!

We must choose carefully who we walk with daily through this life! We must ask ourselves — Do my friends point me to the LORD, and encourage my walk with Him, or do they turn my hearts toward the things of this world?

The LORD through Peter spoke these Words to us!

2 Peter 1:2-4
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our LORD, According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Jesus not only prayed for us, He also taught us how to pray!

Matthew 6:9-13
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

These are just a few of the prayers we find in His treasure to us — His Word!

Let’s close with Psalm 23, because it also shows how He will provide everything we need on our journey through life to eternity with Him!

Psalm 23:1-6
The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I can’t help but believe given the timing of the changes to the Republican platform at PDJT’s request and with his blessing, that the two attempts on his life are not wake up calls from the LORD to DJT! Will he heed the warning and stand by life and Biblical marriage? I pray so!

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Paul tells us this again in his letter to the church in Rome!

Romans 13:1-7
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Beloved, if we trust in the Word of the LORD, and walk in obedience to His commands, we don’t have to fret about who He places over us! We will have peace in knowing they are as Nebuchadnezzar was — His servants! They serve His purposes!

Many times as in the case of king Nebuchadnezzar, they are put in leadership as judgment for a sinful and disobedient people!

Paul stresses to Timothy the importance of praying for those in leadership over us!

1 Timothy 2:1-3
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

Peter also speaks about how we should respond to those in authority over us!

1 Peter 2:13-15
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the LORD’S sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by Him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

All of these scriptures remind us that God is the ultimate authority, and He is the one who places men in positions of authority.

But even though the LORD uses wicked men, they still answer to Him! In the case of Nebuchadnezzar, he ended up having his kingdom taken from him and lost his mental capacity for 7 years! Afterward, he magnified the LORD!

Daniel 4:31-34,37
While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: [37] Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride He is able to abase.

When the pride of men is lifted up, the LORD humbles them!

Things ARE getting worse, and not better. The family member I spoke of that day, the one who was lukewarm, has now completely turned away from the Lord and is living in grave sin. I found this out yesterday. Father in heaven, we need You more than ever to help us as things are getting harder here. It’s You we cling too and want to please. Thank You that You will command Your strength over us to help us endure to the end. Psalm 68:28 “Your God has commanded your strength; Strengthen, Oh God, what You have done for us.” Bring those living in sin back to You LORD before it’s too late. In Jesus name, amen. 🙏

The LORD walked with so many others, and He will walk with you, beloved! Though none go with you — Follow Him!
