We all need some sort of inspiration and motivation to tune our days positively and live each day to the fullest.
The Power of Kindness
In his bestselling book, The Power of Intention, Dr. Wayne Dyer sites research that an act of kindness increases the serotonin levels in your brain. Serotonin is a natural chemical in your body that is responsible for improving mood. Many of the antidepressant medications on the market today work by enhancing the body’s utilization of serotonin. According to Dr. Dyer, however, science has discovered that an act of kindness will increase the release of serotonin in your brain without the need for medication.
What is more inspiring and interesting about this is that the research concluded that serotonin levels are increased in both the giver and receiver of an act of kindness. In addition, anyone who witnesses an act of kindness also has an increase in serotonin levels. You can relate this to the many inspiring status updates people post or the good things that has happened to their life, a good job, marriage, engagement, having a new born in their life, … the list goes on. Have you ever noticed how you feel reading it? ….
Wow…! How amazing life is! The mere fact that you did something good to others has an immeasurable reward in making yourself, and others feel inspired and happy. Kindness is a natural antidepressant for the giver, receiver and to the one who witnesses that human compassion.
So be kind in life! Know that the true joy you always crave to have in your life grows more when you are generous and kind to others. Live a life of selflessness. Know that you gain more by the hand you extend to help others. Your heart is warmed by more joy and happiness through the selfless act you showed to make others life to be of joy and blissful. Having the ear that your loved one’s want to hear them talk or giving the shoulder that others look for when they are in need of comfort or even your mere presence when they need to have a companion, have the amazing power to make your heart experience more joy and happiness.
Here are some ways you can practice kindness in your life.
Your life and the many lives around you are connected by your actions. The goodness you seek in others, the events you live by, the humility that you show in life and the act of being of service adds endless joy to you and the many more who have been the recipient and the audience in what we call LIFE. When you get the focus off of yourself in what ever you do or experience in life, you will be surprised how much better you will feel.
Kindness will bring to you a cascade of positive effects. Kindness elevates feelings of generosity, capability, contribution, compassion, and connection. Kindness is contagious in that it will win you smiles. There is reciprocity in kindness and as they say, “Like attracts like.” Be kind and watch kindness come back to you.
“No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.”

A Note for the Inner- Self
Dear Me,
Welcome the new you.
There is nothing more gratifying experience in life than being blessed with yet another opportunity to be alive. On every day that ends your old you die and on every new day you got the chance to recreate yourself. It is as if on every new day you have the chance to start afresh and anew. You can treat it as if your week, your month, your year and your life just started. Though you think you are in the same body as you were the days before, remember that your body is just a container; it is the vessel that is holding your essence and what matters most that you are reborn inside. And when you look at yourself through the mirror, look beyond the body and witness the reincarnation of your soul.
Now you have the chance to be the master of your own happiness. It’s a new day and a new life. Celebrate the joy of being alive, practice kindness on every moment, remain humble and grateful for every encounter and occasion you are blessed with.
May you have a happy revivification day!

A Note for Today
Dear me,
You take a moment every now and then to celebrate and cherish your successes and achievements. But today I urge you to take time to recognize the many flaws you have had, the fall outs that made you stumble, the disappointments that tore you apart, the heartbreaking occasions that made your soul crumble, the missed opportunities that fumed you and most of all the loses that brought you down on your knees. Each one of them have contributed in the making of the kind of person you are today. The fabrics of your being are not just threaded from the good joyous moments but equally from those tough and sore times, if not more.
Never forget that you are human not an angel; to err and have flaws is okay, to pass through turmoils in life, whether big or small, is inevitable and your higher self comes at some pains. Even the process of bringing the beautiful souls in life, babies, is through the highest of pains a human being could ever handle. What you should focus at all times in the NOW, the PRESENT is that you are destined to better yourself, to take those glitches as your best teachers in life and to always bear in mind that God never throws at you that you can't handle because you are never never alone.
Be human, be a grateful and avid human and be the better version of yourself on your everyday.
May you have a rewarding day!

An Everyday Reminder
Dear me,
The tunes you put on, the tracks you play and the music you sing along in the morning have immesurable powers over how your day will be like. So beware of the type and kind of music you put on in the earliest of your morning. Just because the beat seem to be filled with energy and strong power, it doesn't mean the content is of the same. And sometimes, just because you love the musician, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to listen to all his songs. Some of them could be energy drainers than taking you to a higher positive mood.
Be selective, be in charge of your morning energy fuels. At times it might be good if you don't relay on the radio for your morning music selection. They could suck out your enthusiasm about the beauty of your day and the amazing things you could achieve than bringing out the best in you.
I say kick start it with a spiritual tune to make you more grateful and humble ..., and then focus on content based tunes to nudge you back to reality and make you aware of your role in the grand change ... then fast track it to the one that pumps your energy.
(My morning started with Liqe Mezemiran Yilma's settling and heart warming songs and now I am on Tedy Afro's 'Tikur sew' album listening high and loud 'Bashaw' - meaningful content, inspiration and energy packed all in one followed by Nahtty Man's 'Mamesgegnaye' - a humbling and gratifying work of art that should be on your top track list of your everyday.)

A Note for the Day
Dear Me,
Before you point figures on others for not being up to their promises, first ask yourself if you are at all times a person who never fails to keep your word for others.
Before you blame others for failing you and not to be on your side when you need them, first ask yourself if you are a friend in need for others, and most importantly for your own self.
Before you blame others for being irresponsible and selfish, first ask yourself if you are always a person who puts the interests of others before yours. And,
Before you start your day complaining about the many things that has gone wrong, first ask yourself if you have been thankful enough for the things that are going to your advantage.
There is more to be thankful for, more reasons to be humbled by and countless reasons to practice patience and to cut some slacks for others when they go off their natural ways.
Learn to count your blessing not the wrongs in your days and the people you encounter.
Blessed day to us all!

A Note to the Inner-self
Dear me,
"Society demands conformity at the expense of individual liberty. Let us be for once a non conformist to be fully alive."
Wayne W. Dyer, Wisdom of the Ages
Learn from the great souls who have walked in this world, people who have brought big change, individuals that are revered for their great accomplishments, each of them were considered as outlaws and non conformists.
In the road less traveled there is more to be done and great things to be achieved.
Be a trend setter, walk your own roads that you think will bring change and do not be threatened by the voices that say you can't bring change on your own.
BE A NON CONFORMIST!
@positivetunes
As you start your day, you have the power to either make it a day to celebrate or otherwise. You can start it with a smile on your face, gratitude and peace in your soul and humility your way of life. Or you could start by complaining, cursing life for getting you here and blaming others for whatever goes wrong.
I don't know about you, but for me starting my days with a positive tune, with an attitude of gratitude, seeing the blessings and lessons in my everyday experience has made my life worthy of living. So, I do the same on this bright and wonderful day as well - loving living life and enjoying the joy of having the opportunity of being blessed by such a day!
Hope you do the same. Treasure each moment, spread love, gratitude and happiness to all around you!

Dear me,
"In 1955, Rosa Parks made a decision to defy an unjust law that discriminated against her on the basis of her race. Her refusal to give up her seat on the bus had consequences far beyond those she may have been aware of at that moment. Had she intended to change the structure of the society? No matter what her intent, her commitment to a higher standard compelled her to act.
What far reaching effects could be set in motion by raising the standards you hold for your life and making a true decision to live up to them today?" Anthony Robbins - Giant Steps

A Note to the Egoistic Self
Dear me,
The worst form of addiction in life is the obsession we have to our ego and self importance, to who we are and what we have done. We are so much engrossed in ‘I know it all’, ‘I am always right’ and ‘Mine is always the best way’ kind of mentality. We worry by far more whether others have conformed to our ways or have endorsed our ideologies. We are so enslaved to our ego and the good opinions of others that we spend majority of our time making sure people notice us and accept us. If you check how we act on social Medias such as this it would show you much clearly. We spend much time checking who liked, commented on or shared the status updates we post, the picture we have shared or the opinions and causes we advocate. It is more of ‘I’, ‘Me’ and ‘Mine’ kind of mentality than what is out there I could learn from others.
So, dear me, please do always be reminded of the wise words of Lao Tzu on The Toa Te Ching that stated on Verse 36, “The gentle outlasts the strong, the obscure out powers the obvious.” On your everyday try to become a little more obscure, a little less interfering and a little less ‘Notice me’ kind of person. It is wise to be free from the bad opinions of others but the truest wisdom is to be free from the good opinions of others and to be free from the egoistic mentality that seeks the approval of others of you and your actions.
May you have a day filled with humbling experiences.

This is a Brand New Day
"No matter what your disappointments or challenges from the past may have been, This is a Brand New Day.
Dream bigger, try again, have faith, envision your life the way you want it to be. The bigger your vision, the bigger your life
We settle for what is as though we have no power. We don’t dream beyond our environment and settle for a habitual way of thinking, believing or behaving and living. That may be fine for some, but too small for you.
Surround yourself with your dreams and an atmosphere of success. Vision can be limited by the wrong environment. Associate with people who are big thinkers and big dreamers as they will support your vision. People who build you up not tear you down. People who have an open mind not small thoughts.
Sometimes it takes years to realize your dream. This is the hardest part. This is the time where faith and courage are tested. Remember it’s a big world out there full of opportunity and abundance. It’s with those first steps, in the times of growth and waiting, that the seeds are planted.
In the end you are only limited by your own thoughts. You have to make your dreams and visions bigger than your fears and have the courage to see them through.
So today instead of just dreaming your dream, start living it.
The best things come to those who don’t give up."

“How can anyone be a pessimist in a world where we know so little? A heart starts beating inside a mother’s womb a few weeks after conception, and it’s a total mystery to everyone on our planet. In comparison to what there is to know, we are only embryos. Keep this in mind whenever you encounter those who are absolutely certain that there’s only one way to do something. Resist being a pessimist. Resist with all your might, because we hardly know anything at all in comparison with what there is to know." ~Dr. Wayne Dyer, 21 Days to Master Success and Inner Peace

As we warmly welcome the new day and the new beginning, may we all know we could achieve more and excel better when we learn to live by the same rule of UBUNTU: I AM BECAUSE WE ARE!
"I am because we are"
An anthropologist proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the kids that whoever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run like that as one could have had all the fruits for himself they said: ''UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?''
'UBUNTU' in the Xhosa culture means: "I am because we are"

“Dare to Be
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!”

If we consider our every day life as a work of art, the people who walk in and out of our life are like the strock of paints who bring the best in ourselves. Many of them walk in and out of our lives for a whole lot of reason, some stay for a while and others last long. And each leave their footprints in our hearts and soul, some have the shallow one and others leave and keep on having a foot print that lasts a life time. From our close circle family members to the extended relatives, from our relationships and partners to the dear friend and from those who have stayed for long in our lives to those who pop up in for just a brief moment, each one in their own unique way color and shape our lives.
Its rear to find those who could light up others life with their presence, those you could always feel their presence even if you don't have them around, those who could give you the comforting smile that would lift the loads in your heart, friends who at all times have the power to tune your life positively through their never fading concern and life changing advice and those who could understand you for who you are not who they want you to be, those with whom you find sitting next to you at the end of your bad turn and say "We messed up big time!" than judge you for what went wrong and find the words and grace to wipe your tears and lift you up.
May we take today and the days ahead to celebrate and cherish the wonderful and amazing people in our lives who are at all times by our sides against the test of time and the worst in us.

Dear me,
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” Henry David Thoreau
Your present is the result of your past collective actions, and so will be your present actions a base for your future. By every single act you take today you create and shape your future. So whatever you do today try to see the worth of your action in your future.

A Note for the Inner-self
Dear me,
“One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.” Unknown
FORGIVENESS is quite a powerful thing in life that could mend broken hearts, revive fallen apart relationships and bring a new way of feeling to once journey in life. Most of us, however, live many of our days with pains in our hearts eating us alive because we just hold on to the things, people or events that has done us wrong. Quite after so long that we do forgive, if we ever did at all. For that even to happen most of us has to live through quite a painful experience in life and knocked back in the ring of life through the inspiring people we come across or events that we live by.
Practice forgiveness from the bottom of your heart on your every new day. But not just others, forgive your own self as well. You do wrong yourself more often than others do.
May you have an inspiringly gratifying day!

A Note for the Inner-self
Dear me,
"We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are." Talmud
learn to cultivate your day by making the most in life - complain less, be grateful, have something to put a smile on your face when you start and end your day, celebrate the good times you have with those who matter and never undermine the worth of the tough times in your life as they are the best life time teachers. And most importantly know that 'A stranger is a friend u haven't met yet.'
Be positive and optimistic, know that every experience, be it the good or bad is there for a reason and is worth experiencing!
May you have a blessed day.
