Novatek PJSC's Belokamenka facility on the Barents Sea, dubbed "the plant to make LNG plants," appears largely mothballed. The site was intended to become a unique hub for the domestic assembly of so-called LNG trains. However, after constructing two trains for Arctic LNG 2, Russia's latest export facility, there's no activity indicating further expansion. The reason is the sanctions imposed by the West on Novatek and all its future LNG projects, including production plants, trans-shipment facilities, and tankers.
According to Laura Page, natural gas and LNG analyst at research firm Kpler, the lack of activity at the facility indicates a delay in the implementation of future LNG projects that "were deemed critical for Russia to achieve its goal of reaching 100 million tons a year of LNG export capacity by 2030."

Regarding the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile and Putin's speech with veiled nuclear threats:

Since March 2024, Russia has supplied North Korea with more than a million barrels (56 thousand tons) of oil, probably in payment for military support, the BBC reported.
According to the Open Source Center's analysis of satellite imagery, North Korean tankers made 43 trips between a Russian oil terminal in the Far East and DPRK ports between March and November 2024. All ships arrived in Russia empty and returned loaded with oil.
The oil is payment for the weapons and troops Pyongyang has sent Moscow to fuel its war in Ukraine, leading experts and UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, have told the BBC.
The first oil transfer documented by the Open Source Centre in a new report, was on 7 March 2024, seven months after it first emerged Pyongyang was sending Moscow weapons. The shipments have continued as thousands of North Korean troops are reported to have been sent to Russia to fight, with the last one recorded on 5 November.

A DPRK general was wounded in a Ukrainian strike near Russia's Kursk region, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The WSJ interlocutor did not elaborate on the details of exactly how the general was wounded.
This is the first time when the West confirmed the wounding of a high-ranking North Korean military officer, the publication noted.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have commented on the situation regarding the deployment of DPRK troops in Kharkiv region.
Recent media reports suggested the presence of North Korean troops near Kharkiv, citing an alleged statement from an AFU representative. However, the Operational-Tactical Group "Kharkiv" has denied these claims, clarifying that the individual in question was not an official spokesperson and lacked authority to comment.
"The operational situation in the Kharkiv direction has not undergone significant changes. Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian occupation troops," the Group stated in a Facebook post.
Russia has reportedly deployed around 11,000 DPRK soldiers, primarily to support its counter-offensive in the Kursk region. North Korean personnel have also been observed in Russian-occupied Mariupol, though their role remains unclear, according to CNN.
Ukrainian military officials believe these troops pose little immediate threat in Kursk or elsewhere. However, if their numbers grow as anticipated, the situation may require reassessment.
But the fact itself that North Korea soldiers are fighting against Ukrainians, with Iran, North Korea and China supplying weapons to the Russian army, means that this is not a "regional conflict."
It is still hard for many people to realize that this is a global war. But it's necessary to finally do that.
So far, this war can still be contained on Ukrainian territory. But that will take maximum support, concentration and speed.

Analysis of the situation with two data cables cut in the Baltic Sea by Belarusian political analyst Ihar Tyshkevich.
◾️ The information about the cut of data cables in the Baltic Sea became one of the key topics in the European media. The Chinese-flagged bulk carrier Yi Peng 3, which had been in the area at the time of the ruptures, was quickly found and soon stopped by the Danish Navy.
◾️ A logical question arises - is China really involved in what happened? And why would Beijing do that? Formally (if the suspicions are confirmed), the responsibility will be on the crew and the shipowner, and there is a reason to accuse the Chinese side. But there are several interesting aspects to this situation:
1. The company that owns the vessel is registered in 2022. It owned only one ship until 2024 - Yi Peng. This year, a second one, Yi Peng 3, was added. Both ships are more than 20 years old.
2. The shipowner, Ningbo Yipeng Shipping, mainly makes voyages to Russian ports. That is, there is reason to believe that the so-called "shadow fleet," which Russia is actively creating, is involved in the case.
3. The captain of the vessel (at least at the time of leaving the port of Ust-Luga) is a Russian citizen.
◾️ This case is similar to another that occurred in 2023, when a Chinese-flagged vessel, Newnew Polar Bear, which had a long life history and changed ownership after 2022, damaged the Balticconnector natural gas pipeline connecting Finland and Estonia. At the time, it was qualified as an 'accident,' as there had not yet been a wave of sabotage at defense plants and infrastructure facilities in EU countries.
The shipowner, Hainan Xin Xin Yang Shipping Co. Ltd., is also newly registered. Finally, the official representative of the company responsible for negotiations and contracts was a Russian citizen, and the main partners in Russia were Rosatom and Rostec.
‼️ Thus, we have a situation where sabotage on the bottom of the Baltic Sea takes place at the moment when there are vessels under the Chinese flag, but connected with the Russian Federation.
