Austria will give up Russian gas by 2027, Austrian newspaper Kurier reports.
Austria's ruling coalition has agreed to include the rejection of Russian gas by 2027 in the country's new security strategy. The issue is currently being finalized, the newspaper notes.
One of the reasons why Austria has decided to give up Russian gas is that the money Moscow receives from the sale of the fuel goes to finance the war against Ukraine. In addition, the Austrian government believes that dependence on Russian gas threatens Austria's economy.
After Moscow unleashed a full-scale war in Ukraine, Russian gas supplies to Europe dropped fivefold to 1970s levels, and Gazprom's share of the European market fell threefold, from 45 to 15 percent, according to the European Commission. Under the current circumstances, Azerbaijan is increasing gas supplies to Europe, forcing Russia out of a market that Moscow has almost undividedly controlled for the past half-century.

Russian spies could be flying drones over UK military bases to obtain intelligence on training of Ukrainians - The Times
According to a manual circulated among British troops, Russian intelligence services have shown "significant" interest in Operation Interflex, code name for the training of 34,000 Ukrainian recruits. As well as flying drones over military bases, Russian agents have approached army trainers both online and in person to solicit information.
"RIS [Russian intelligence services] routinely employs a range of physical reconnaissance and technical capabilities … to collect on UK land activities, including the training of armed forces of Ukraine personnel," the handbook warns.
It is reported that "vulnerable locations" include training areas, aerial and sea ports of debarkation for AFU military personnel, as well as key accommodation and logistical sites.

Earlier, he stated the need for a ceasefire and immediate negotiations. Now he opposes surrendering even a part of the Ukrainian territory to Putin.
A video appeared online of a Russian pilot who was shot down but managed to eject. He filmed his and his aircraft's fall on his phone.
As the ejection occurred above the clouds and at a considerable altitude, it could either be the pilot of a Su-30/Su-35 fighter or a Su-34 bomber. Judging by the calm behavior of the pilot, the plane was shot down deep in the Russian rear.

"It's some kind of disease for a woman to be an MP!" - Russian Orthodox Church priest Andrei Tkachev has said that women should be "housewives."
"Why does a woman need power? It's some kind of disease, it's some kind of contagion, to have women as deputies of different convocations. Why do you need it if you are happy, if you are loved, if you have children? Don't you have anything else to do?" the priest said.
Russia is steadily moving its society back in time: tsar is God, women must bear cannon fodder.
"We use our own 'tricks'."
Since last fall, it has become harder for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to detect Shahed drones. Instead of white and large drones, the Russian army now launches small black drones. They are almost impossible to detect without a thermal imager.
But our Defenders know what's at stake. They keep coming up with new ideas to shoot down Russian drones.

Medvedev called exchanged Russian prisoners "traitors" and "an existential threat" to Russia.
He hinted they might get attacked by Russia abroad: "Let them not forget about the perishability of their existence in this world. Let them look around. And in general - let them burn in hell!"
Below is the full translation of his Telegram post, in case anyone wants to read his "thoughts".
"A few more words about the prisoner exchange.
It is obvious that this exchange was the largest in recent history. It is the result of the filigree work of our agencies and their foreign "partners". It was a very difficult chess game, which was conducted according to the best manuals, lasted tediously long and at times seemed to go into a zugzwang. It was necessary to insist on our goals, while at the same time not bringing the situation to a deadlock. By the way, to be fair, I would like to note that at a certain point "Western friends" also showed proper pragmatism and a tendency to reasonable compromises. It was hard, but nevertheless everything took place and, let's be frank, in our favor, that has already been reported by the Western media and politicians of all stripes.
But I want to talk about something else. Let us assess the "qualitative membership" of the exchange. Who did our country return? These are people who have worked faithfully for the Fatherland, being part of the special services or contributing to Russia's interests in one way or another. It was work at the risk of life, for the prosperity of our country.
Some may or may not like their work, but it is necessary, and it is practiced in all countries of the world. There is no doubt that the returned citizens are patriots of our Fatherland who have performed a feat. And that is why they are worthy of the state awards that Vladimir Putin said.
Who did our country give in return, who are these people? Some of them are foreigners who committed a criminal act, and some of them were convicted of espionage. Everything is clear with the latter, it is the same work, but, on the contrary, in the interests of their countries. But the second part is Russian citizens who have set their life goal as the destruction of their own country. It does not matter whether we are talking about the so-called non-systemic opposition, which was foaming at the mouth, sticking its tongue out, and rushing to power. Or about those who sincerely hated their Homeland to the point of trembling, tried to destroy the civil peace and ideological foundations of society by word and deed. Both of them had already happened in our country at the beginning of the XX century, and it is well known how it ended. Let's face it - they are traitors. If not in the legal, then, at least, in the moral sense of the word. They are an existential threat to the existence of today's Russia. They are the servants of our enemies. That is why they are gladly accepted by foreign leaders, realizing that they are the true, what is called, ab origine, hope for the collapse of Russia. Well ... Let them continue to choke on their barking, dreaming of tearing apart the body of our country and subordinating its bloody pieces to the authority of their Great Master. But at the same time, as I have already written, let them not forget about the perishability of their existence in this world. Let them look around, in short. And in general - let them burn in hell!"

"Goga" is a former serviceman of the Russian Baltic Fleet. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he opposed the war, for which he was deprived of access to weapons, rearranged to put on watch and prepared to be sent to the "special military operation".
The sailor managed to escape from the Russian Federation with the help of the GUR and the Freedom of Russia Legion, but before that, he burned down the ship he was serving on.
"I called the commander of the combat unit, and they were at sea right then. I said, "You came from the sea, you are tired. Have a rest, and I'll be on duty." And I stayed alone on the ship for 24 hours. That's it. I set fire and left the ship," "Goga" said.

"We're all wounded. We are being hit with everything they have: "birds", artillery, mortars..."
Russian soldiers hide in a concrete tunnel in Zaporizhzhia region, near the village of Urozhaine, and complain about the condition and losses among Russian soldiers.
The Russians have completed and launched a new railroad from Rostov to occupied Mariupol through Hranitne/Malovodne, Mariupol mayor's adviser Andryushchenko said.
"This can dramatically change the situation on the front because of the Russians' improved logistics. We are not talking about "alternitiva to the Crimean bridge". This is an independent autonomous branch, which now has greater capacity and power than the bridge," he said.
This is bad news. I hope that this railroad will not operate for long.

Mrs Valentyna was a baker in Ukrainian Sievierodonetsk. Locals called her buns "legendary".
On May 20, 2022, Russian army shelled the city. Mrs Valentyna suffered an open brain injury, severe facial injuries, lost an eye, and had severe injuries to her arm and leg. She remembers how Ukrainian soldiers gave her first aid and brought her to the hospital.
She traveled all over Ukraine to get treatment. A private surgeon in Odesa gave her free treatment on the eye she lost.
There are so many stories of people who lost everything in this war. Putin's Russia continues ruining Ukrainian lives.
