Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev did not appear at the Security Council meeting.
Some Russian sources report that "Medvedev's plane flew to Vladivostok the very next day after the start of the Ukrainian offensive on Kursk."
Medvedev did not participate in the meeting even via video.
The composition of the participants in today's meeting with Putin on the situation in the Kursk region is interesting. In addition to law enforcers - Andrey Belousov was present via video link - Deputy Prime Minister for construction and regional development Marat Khusnullin and presidential aide Alexey Dyumin were present in person; first deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov was also present via video link.
Russian media have already called this lineup the "military cabinet": law enforcers, Manturov, Khusnullin, and Dyumin.
A Ukrainian Warrior recorded a video from (reportedly) the center of Sudzha, Kursk region of Russia, and reported that the city is completely controlled by the AFU.

Russian Telegram channels showed new footage of the fire at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
What is known so far about the incident at the nuclear power plant:
◾️ Last night, the Nikopol regional military administration reported that the occupiers set fire to a huge number of car tires near the cooling tower at ZNPP, which is located about a kilometer from the plant's power units.
◾️ The occupiers traditionally blamed Ukraine for everything and said that the plant was allegedly attacked by a Ukrainian drone.
◾️ Energoatom emphasized that the cause of the fire at the cooling tower was deliberate arson or negligence of the occupiers.
◾️ The IAEA said it "witnessed heavy dark smoke coming from the northern zone of the plant after multiple explosions."
◾️ The fire on the territory of Zaporizhzhia NPP has now stopped, according to the Dnipropetrovs'k regional military administration.
◾️ Radiation levels in Nikopol region are within normal limits.

❗️Russians set fire to car tires in the cooling tower of Russuan-occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant - Nikopol regional military administration.
As of now, the Zaporizhzhia NPP works in regular mode, as much as it is possible in the conditions of occupation, the administration added.

Russian private Alexei Aleksandrovich Safronov from 39th motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, native of Russia's Kemerovo region, signed a contract on 19.06.2024 after seeing an advertisement on the Internet. He was given a body armour and helmet, which were taken from the corpses of his fellow soldiers.
He tells how his comrades were taken to a pit they called "Alcatraz" and he never saw them again.
A Russian soldier was captured near Marinka on the Pokrovsk direction of the front.

Today, President Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, where, for the first time, he officially mentioned the operation in the Kursk region.
"The most important thing - there was a report by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on our defensive actions at the front and the operation in Kursk region. We are grateful to all soldiers and commanders for their resilience and decisive actions," he said.
Oleksandr Syrskyi added that "the situation is under our control."
‼️Security Service of Ukraine informed that Russian special services may soon stage crimes, in particular against civilians in the Kursk region, to accuse Ukraine of it.
The agency warns that such attempts are useless and will have no impact on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive or on Western partners.

Marcus Faber, the chair of the German Bundestag’s defence committee, writes that the Ukrainian offensive in Russia’s Kursk region is going better than expected, which raises the issue of increasing the number of German-produced Leopard 2 tanks for the Ukrainian defence forces.
"Dear friends, the Ukrainian offensive against the occupation forces near Kursk is going better than expected. This is forcing the aggressor to withdraw a significant number of troops from the front in the east. This eases tensions there. It's an excuse to talk about more Leopard 2s. The offensive shows the Russian population that their dictator is not in control of anything and the military leadership is tired. This is a good basis for peace talks with Putin's successor. And for negotiations with Putin before the International Criminal Court. Our military assistance to Ukraine is the best investment in our security. It reduces the potential of the Russian threat every day. It prevents Ukrainian citizens from becoming refugees. Putin's mouthpieces in Germany may now realize this, too," Marcus Faber wrote.

Ukrainian Defenders from the 68th Jaeger Brigade showed incredible footage of the evacuation under enemy fire.
The Warriors throw water and ammunition out of the MaxxPro armored vehicle in seconds, and their comrades hop in. While leaving, two enemy FPV drones hit the armored personnel carrier, but the Warriors survived.
Ukrainian military counterintelligence and Warriors from the 95th Separate Polesian Air Assault Brigade used a drone with a loudspeaker to convince a Russian occupier to voluntarily lay down his arms and surrender.

"I promised him I would place a flag..."
A wounded Ukrainian Defender, 23-year-old Roman Sheviakov of the 57th Mechanized Brigade, was captured by Getty photographer Serhii Supynskyi. The Warrior was crying next to the National Memory Lawn memorial on Independence Square in Kyiv.
Roman joined the army in 2020. He was injured in April 2024, while performing a combat mission in Kharkiv region. His leg was amputated.
On Maidan, at the moment he was photographed, he honored his fallen comrade Yurii, call sign "Alpha", who died at the front.
"I could trust my life to him. We served together before we were on the front line. But then we were separated. He was a communication officer, and I ended up in the infantry," Roman said.
The two men promised each other to place a flag on the National Memory Lawn if one of them died.
