The group he was in lost half of its soldiers before they even reached the position they were to capture. When the group commander died, the remaining occupiers found themselves at the epicenter of the massacre without coordination and support. They had nothing left to do but only to surrender.

Russia keeps a lawyer from Melitopol who ran a Telegram channel about the life of the city under occupation as a slave - Reporters Without Borders.
Before the full-scale war in Ukraine began, Yevhen Ilchenko worked in Melitopol as a lawyer. At the very beginning of the invasion, the city was occupied by Russian troops. In May, Ilchenko created a Telegram channel in which he published news about the city. He wrote about problems with the supply of supermarkets, the presence of the Russian military, petty corruption, and lines for documents.
On July 10, the Russian military stormed Ilchenko's house. They searched the lawyer's apartment and stole jewelry and documents. Ilchenko himself was detained under the "terrorism" article - Reporters without Borders.
At first, Ilchenko was kept in Melitopol for several weeks and tortured together with other prisoners. According to RSF, the Russian military connected electrodes to the genitals of the prisoners and intimidated them with staged executions.
Since September, the lawyer was transferred to the village of Verbove, several dozen kilometers from Melitopol. There, the man was forced to dig trenches for the Russian military or clean weapons. Ilchenko spent several months there. Now, according to RSF, the lawyer is in detention in Taganrog.

Drones could have hit warehouses with special fuel for MiG-31K at Russia's Savasleyka air base – Defense Express
NASA satellite service shows a large fire in the area of unloading and storage of fuel and engine oils.
It is reported that since the MiG-31K was based on the air base, it is likely that these warehouses could store kerosene T-6 - a special heavy thermostable fuel required for supersonic flights at high altitude, in which the kerosene heats up to 100-150 degrees Celsius. Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk could be a turning point in history, just like the original 1943 battle - Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, a former UK & NATO CBRN commander writes in The Telegraph.
According to him, the current Ukrainian offensive will hurt Putin on many fronts:
🔹️ Russia will have to redeploy forces from elsewhere on the front;
🔹️It became obvious that Russia does not have a sufficient mobile reserve to plug gaps in its defenses;
🔹️There is no indication that Russian locals, as well as conscripts, want to defend themselves and slow down the Ukrainian offensive.

The Russian Navy practiced nuclear strikes against European countries during exercises in case of a potential conflict with NATO. This follows from secret documents prepared between 2008 and 2014, which were examined by the Financial Times journalists.
The documents obtained by the publication, which were prepared for Russian officers, contain a list of targets for missiles capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear charges. A total of 32 targets for the Russian fleet in Europe are indicated on the maps created for the presentation.

Putin has appointed Alexey Dyumin commander of the Northern direction of the "special military operation". Before that, he was president of Tula.
Dyumin is Putin's man, his former bodyguard.
Why did Putin appoint him to the Kursk direction?

Dyumin's appointment indicates serious problems in the Russian army.
