Fluid 2.7 Soho released
What's new:
- Well the ROM probably builds and boots now
- June security patch merged
- Rebased for Android 12L
This is just a simple announcement to say that we are actually planning on releasing something for Android 12, and some UI updates will come next week
Today we are announcing the new release of Fluid. Fluid 2.2 will bring new feature such as a supportive cryptocurrency miner (Bitcoin & Ethereum supported. Fluid Coin primary). Daim this channel was so professional till I touched it, anyway, here's an actual explanation of what's going on:
Team activity been really down lately and everyone has been mostly busy with their life's/jobs and whatever else life offers. Fluid hasn't been on the priority list for a while now, that's why there aren't much updates. Mostly everything teased is made and mostly functional and there is some unteased stuff made too but it's not really enough to release an actual "redefined" ui. We promise we will be back soon but idk when or what or how but yeah, peace.

Alright this has been long overdue but we are unlikely to come back soon. Everyone in the team has their own life to deal with. Thanks for the 3 years of support and we can properly say now that this project is discontinued. Also the group will be locked and probably deleted at some point but the channel will stay as an archive.

Open-source software is an essential part of Android community. It usually brings benefit to everyone as different people all over the world work together to create something new. But sometimes things go wrong.
Imagine you put in your hard work and free time to provide something good and quite well received, working for free to give something nice to the community.
Suddenly, a person sees what you are doing and likes it. He even likes it so much that he decides to apply the same design in his own ROM so more people can enjoy what you are doing. Completely fine, that is what open source is about.
Well, if that would be the end of the story, yes. But then that person goes ahead and sells your work behind a paywall to let his users pay for your (supposedly) free stuff without even crediting until someone reminds them to? To add to that, the changes mentioned on the paywall site have no mention of the original authors. Do you still think that's fine? I doubt that.
We have nothing against cherry-picking and providing work, but selling something, authored by a different person which is supposed to be free for all, WITHOUT contributing anything to it and being adamant about it, is bad and unethical.
What a shame.
