The Race Against Time: Offering Your Best to Allāh in Your Prime

A sincere advice for my brothers & sisters in Islām,

A reflection I wanted to share to all as I watch my father who is weak and recovering from his brain operation. A man who, at 87 years old, was once the most active and vibrant person, now struggles to even move a limb. Seeing him, once so full of energy and independence, now fighting to perform even the simplest of movements—like raising his hands and legs. This has made me realise the importance of our youth, our prime and good health.

Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ have repeatedly reminded us of the fleeting nature of life, the value of youth, and the urgency to act before our time is up. This only becomes a reality for many of us when we have fallen weak, ill or just too late.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said beautifully: “Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death.” Sunan Tirmidhī

This narration strikes at the core of my advice. Youth is not just a phase of strength and energy—it’s a divine trust, a fleeting opportunity to earn Allāh’s pleasure before the inevitabilities of life—weakness, frailty, and death—overcome us.

When we are young and healthy, it’s easy to take our strength and time for granted, but every breath is a blessing that deserves gratitude through action. What excuse will we have when Allah asks about our youth?

The time to act is now. The time to serve Allāh, support others, dedicate your wealth and energy for the sake of Allāh—is NOW!!

When old age or illness comes, you will only wish you could do what you neglected in your youth. This life is short, and our youth even shorter. Every moment wasted in heedlessness is a moment lost forever. Imagine the regret of someone who spent their best days in leisure and dunya comfort, only to be reduced to weakness, unable to do what they once could.

Imagine standing before Allāh with nothing but excuses for why we did not pray more, fast more, serve more, and give more.

The companions of the Prophet ﷺ were young when they changed the world. They carried the message of Islām on their shoulders, sacrificing their youth for the eternal gardens of Jannah.

Where are we? Why not us?

The graveyards are full of people who thought they had more time. Don’t let that be your story. Seize your youth. Seize your health. Seize your life for Allāh. Because in the end, only what you do for Allāh will remain.

The time is now. Act, before it’s too late.

(Personal Thoughts) "A reminder for us all"

It’s depressing how casually some allegedly “practicing” youth engage in sins that people used feel ashamed to even take the name of.

You hide from people and fear being exposed to them, yet you have no awareness that you are in the sight of Allāh day in and day out with no barrier? What a deficiency in Īmān and what a calamity…When one remembers Allāh’s Watchfulness over him, he should immediately feel humbled, exposed, and at risk of His Punishment snatching him up from where he doesn’t expect. But today, to many, Allāh سبحانه وتعالى is the least important of the ones they fear seeing their sins.

We come across reminders such as those warning sisters not to flirt with brothers in private chats and to not engage in exchanging indecent photos, and I can’t help but question, “Does a believing women even think of doing that?”

Reminders warning brothers to avoid watching the major Fawāhish (that will not be named), but SubhānAllāh, you question, “Does a Mu’min really go that far?”

Reminders only stem from a need for them, so when one sees reminder after reminder warning the believers to avoid the immorality, indecency, language, behavior, and mannerisms of the Kuffār, which is only Fāhishah and vulgarity, it gets you wondering, “How bad has it gotten that those who claim to be guided and display shows of Iltizām are in need of having these issues addressed to them?”

Not a question that one really wants an answer to, to be honest.

The virtue of sending ṣalāh (supplications for peace) upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday begins from sunset on the night of Jumuʿah (Thursday night) and finishes at sunset on the night of Saturday (Friday night). Moreover, sending ṣalāh upon him during the day of Friday is better than during its night (Thursday night).

تفضيل الصلاة على النبي ﷺ في الجمعة يبدأ من غروب الشمس ليلة الجمعة وينتهي بغروبها ليلة السبت، والصلاة عليه ﷺ في نهار الجمعة أفضل من ليلها

Reflections on the Journey

The past few days have been overwhelming as we traveled across Syria, witnessing city after city liberated. For 12 years, we lived amongst some of the most resilient and beautiful people we’ve ever known.

This moment of victory is bittersweet. While the armed rebellion has ended, leaving Syria will break our hearts. Yet, our mission is not over. The next chapter begins now: helping rebuild this beloved country and continuing to serve its people.

"The heartland of the believers is Ash-Shām.”

Historical Significance of Shām in light of the Qur’ān & Sunnah:

- The area of Shām is blessed - Sūrah Isrā' [17]: 1.

- The Prophet ﷺ supplicated for blessings in Shām - Sahīh Bukhārī

- At times of tribulations faith will be in Shām - Musnad Ahmad

- The Prophet ﷺ advised at the end of times to join the army of Shām first for it is the chosen land of Allāh - Sunan Abū Dawūd

- The assembly of the Muslims at the end wars is in Ghouta [near Damascus - Shām] - Sunan Abū Dawūd

- There is no goodness in us if Shām is corrupted - Sunan Tirmidhi

- The final battles [Malāhim] between truth and falsehood are prophesied to occur in Shām - Sahīh Muslim

- The Prophet Isa will descend near a white minaret in Damascus to restore justice and faith - Sahīh Muslim

We ask Allāh to bless the people of Shām and keep them upon khair. Amīn

Wake Up to the Injustice: Our Ummah Needs Us

While we slept peacefully, men, women, and children in Gaza were burned alive in camps, and killed by hydrogen bombs.

This is a call to action—to stand for justice and be the voice of the oppressed. We cannot stay silent.

Fear the standing and questioning in front of Allāh!

What can we do?

1. Make Dua’a: Pray urgently for protection, justice, and an end to oppression.

2. Give Charity: Give in the cause of Allāh, no matter how small.

3. Build Awareness: Use your platforms to spread the truth, not trivial content.

Act now! Don’t be passive as our Ummah is massacred.

May Allāh protect the Ummah and grant them Shahāda. Amīn.

Victory Over Tyranny

To the people of Syria and beyond, we extend our heartfelt congratulations on your victory over a terrible tyrant. The blessed revolution has come to an end.

For 12 years, we stood by your side, aiding and supporting you through unimaginable hardships. To witness you now, free and rejoicing in the streets, fills our hearts with joy.

Over the past few days, we’ve traveled through Syria, witnessing city after city fall and the people rise in victory. This triumph is from Allah alone. It came when many had given up hope. I always said, "Be patient just a little longer."

Anas bin Maalik (radhi Allaahu anhu) said:  Verily the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

Whoever sends Salah upon me once Allah will send ten upon him and remove ten of his sins and raise his rank by ten levels.
