[al-Baqarah 2:271].

Ibn Jareer said: “will expiate you some of your sins” means: Allah will expiate your sins by virtue of your charity. End quote.

A society clinging on to the tightrope

Social economic instability is running strife in Syria. The increase in woman and children you see sprawling themselves into trash cans has become a normal site.

No one wants to live in poverty and surely people do not want to dig through waste bins but with an increase in food prices, gas, and work not being attainable, many have chosen to search for plastic and cardboard and recycle these items.

During the latest parts of the nights you see men rumbling through trash bins and more commonly during the day women and children.

The ummah is on its final leg and can not stand up without help. Ramadan is here, the greatest opportunity is in front of you. Exert yourself if giving sadaqah in this blessed month before it goes away.

The description of the believers

"Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them"

[Qur'an Al-Baqarah 2:3]

Looking at the last part of this ayah.
و مما رزقنهم ينفقون
(and spend out of what we have provided them).
When looking at this word ينفقون (they spend), its derived from the word أنفق which not only means to spend, but to exhaust, to deplete.

Are we amongst the true believers? don't we want to have that status of being true believers? If so, we most donate and help our brothers and sisters  in Idlib, Syria.

Today is the 11th day of Ramadan, 1/3rd has past. You only have so much 2/3rds left and soon we will be saying see you next year Ramadan. I hope I am better next year but who guaranteed you to see the next Ramadan?

The opportunity to multiply your good deeds only comes once a year, take advantage of the blessing Allah bestowed upon you.

Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah we started our iftar distributions for Ramadan. Jazak'Allah khair to everyone who has donated and helped us to help our brothers and sisters in need.

The amount of families asking for aid has grown every year but this year we have witnessed a huge spike in the amount of people asking for some form of sadaqah.

The situation here in Syria has deteriorated to an all time low. Rising inflation, high prices for food and salaries that are unable to keep up with inflation. If we continue on this trajectory families will not be able to afford food.

These videos and pictures are a sheer testament to the veracity of the heavy winds that hit idlib. Destroying tents in refugee camps, buildings being raised to the ground and even trees being uplifted from the ground. The wind that the people experienced here is something similar to what people experience during tornadoes.

The Muslims of Idlib, Syria are going through testing times. One tragedy after the other, asking when will all this end.

"A Muslim is the brother of a muslim"

Subhanallah! The Muslim of Syria are not allowed to live in peace for a moment. As Ramadan began so did the shelling of the city of Atarib. The shelling is so intense they had to cancel taraweeh prayers.

When the eat suhoor bombs are falling and when they eat iftar bombs are falling.

They do not know If this will be there last Ramadan or if they will see another day. The parents are scared for their children and their fear can not be described.

This is the state of your brothers and sisters in islam. Always constantly having to live in fear. A reminder that the regime needs to be removed so that the Muslims of Syria can one day live in peace.

If you want Allah to listen to you

The virtue of sending ṣalāh (supplications for peace) upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday begins from sunset on the night of Jumuʿah (Thursday night) and finishes at sunset on the night of Saturday (Friday night). Moreover, sending ṣalāh upon him during the day of Friday is better than during its night (Thursday night).

تفضيل الصلاة على النبي ﷺ في الجمعة يبدأ من غروب الشمس ليلة الجمعة وينتهي بغروبها ليلة السبت، والصلاة عليه ﷺ في نهار الجمعة أفضل من ليلها



إنَّ اللهَ وملائكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ على النَّبي يا أَيُّها الذِّين آمَنوا صَلُّوا عَلَيهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيما ً

Don't forget to send Salutations on Prophet ﷺ

Allah the Almighty will do this for you:

Anas bin Maalik (radhi Allaahu anhu) said:  Verily the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

Whoever sends Salah upon me once Allah will send ten upon him and remove ten of his sins and raise his rank by ten levels.

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the most generous of the men; and he was the most generous during the month of Ramadan when Jibril visited him every night and recited the Qur'an to him. During this period, the generosity of Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) waxed faster than the rain bearing wind.

Ramadān Reminders:
Giving Charity on Behalf of the Deceased

In this blessed month let us not forget the deceased members from our families, let us be a means of benefit for them in their graves Inshā'Allāh.

‘A’ishah narrates that a man said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'My mother died suddenly and I think that if she could have spoken she would have given charity; will she have a reward if I give charity on her behalf?' He ﷺ said: “Yes. Bukhari

1 - Assist in building a Islamic school
2 - Building an orphanage for Muslim families who are homeless.
3 - Sponsoring an orphan.
4 - Digging a well for Muslims who do not have access to clean water.

Action Plan:
- Give charity on behalf of the deceased TODAY by making the intention that a share of the reward goes to the deceased.
- Let us be a means of benefit for our dead loved ones.

*DON'T BE STINGY WHEN IT COMES TO SADAQAH*

Allah says,
(خُذۡ مِنۡ أَمۡوَ ٰ⁠لِهِمۡ صَدَقَةࣰ تُطَهِّرُهُمۡ وَتُزَكِّیهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَیۡهِمۡۖ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنࣱ لَّهُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِیعٌ
عَلِیمٌ)

“Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing,” [9: 103].

This command is about the charity.

Sadaqah is a means for purification of one’s wealth and an increase in it. Therefore, do not be stingy with your Sadaqah. How can we protect ourselves from the Fitnah of stinginess?

By knowing that the wealth that Allah has given us is not ours to keep. He gave us this wealth so that we could spend it in His cause, helping the needy and the poor.

The situation in Syria has deteriorated to the point where some Shaykhs have called for the zakat to be collected immediately and sent out to help the people of Syria.

Zakat 2.5%:

Quran Sura At Taubah
At-Taubah 9:60

إِنَّمَا ٱلصَّدَقَٰتُ لِلْفُقَرَآءِ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَٱلْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَٱلْغَٰرِمِينَ وَفِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۖ فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah . And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Strong winds have affected the people of syria in a violent way. The wind was so strong it uprooted a tree, if the wind could uproot a tree can you imagine the damage done to tents in the refugee camps?

Heavy rain and strong wind are predicted for the next few days and Allah knows best. Families already in difficult situations will be exposed to even more trauma and chaos.

Although the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria was nearly two months ago, the effects of this tragedy are still being felt today.

After many homes were destroyed, families became displaced and were forced to move to internally displaced camps. Living in tents under the brutal weather conditions, and since then there has been major rain storms and heavy violent winds affecting the region.

Be generous to your brothers and sisters living in Syria. They are still greatly in need of your help and you can make a difference even if it's with a small amount.

Remember your brothers and sisters this Ramadan. This is still how many Muslims are living. Families that are poor are forced to live where ever they can even if the building has damage from the last earthquake.

Untill now we still have over half the population of Idlib living in refugee camps. The tents are just a covering so no one sees you and your family inside but the reality is during the summer it is impossible to sleep inside becuase the tent holds heat and during winter the wind comes through very sharply.

The virtue of sending ṣalāh (supplications for peace) upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday begins from sunset on the night of Jumuʿah (Thursday night) and finishes at sunset on the night of Saturday (Friday night). Moreover, sending ṣalāh upon him during the day of Friday is better than during its night (Thursday night).

تفضيل الصلاة على النبي ﷺ في الجمعة يبدأ من غروب الشمس ليلة الجمعة وينتهي بغروبها ليلة السبت، والصلاة عليه ﷺ في نهار الجمعة أفضل من ليلها



إنَّ اللهَ وملائكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ على النَّبي يا أَيُّها الذِّين آمَنوا صَلُّوا عَلَيهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيما ً

Don't forget to send Salutations on Prophet ﷺ

Allah the Almighty will do this for you:

Anas bin Maalik (radhi Allaahu anhu) said:  Verily the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

Whoever sends Salah upon me once Allah will send ten upon him and remove ten of his sins and raise his rank by ten levels.
