Please Stop Over-Quoting
A trend has started in the Forums, especially in some specific sections. Members have been quoting huge sections of previous posts/replies for little to no reason. Quoting huge chunks of text only serves to stretch the page and make responses harder to get through; it is especially unnecessary on topics with only a handful of replies. It can make it much harder for staff to read through a topic and try to figure out what new information is being posted.
Not only is it annoying, it is against the rules and makes reading threads much harder for everyone. Posts with excessive quoting will be removed or have the entire post edited out. Please consider whether quoting a previous post is necessary before you do so. @ someone clearly indicates that you're responding to someone specific and is much cleaner. Please see the applicable rule below and abide by these guidelines; doing so will make everyone's forum experience better.
3.1 Spamming:
- Spamming is strictly forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: personal sites, online auctions, and torrent uploads.
Making posts that are unrelated to the board or thread you are posting on is considered spamming. It is also considered spamming to make nonsense posts on a thread with a specific topic, post nonsense threads on any board and to contribute to spam/nonsense threads by responding to them. In addition, it is considered spamming to stretch the page horizontally or vertically and to post several characters or emotes without any meaningful comments.

Unfortunately we had another outage resulting from a crash of our database. We have recovered now and will be closely monitoring how the site and tracker behave.
This is the second similar incident in a relatively short time. Regrettably, we were unable to determine an exact underlying cause in both occurences. We expect there will be a planned maintenance in the near future to switch to a newer release of our database engine, in the hopes of resolving the problem, though admittedly that is a bit of a shot in the dark.

Important News Below All Users Please Read!
In recent weeks, GGn servers have been a bit overloaded, and we have had to close the forum games temporarily. This issue is multifaceted, but we tracked down the cause thanks to the tireless efforts of our staff. The stability concern is mostly due to load balancing issues during periods of heavy traffic. Additional minor strain has also been caused by training of our new Forum Moderation Large Language Model (LLM). This LLM will enable GGn to join the age of AI and drastically reduce the required staff resources. We are hoping to reach at least 90% accuracy for moderation, so there shouldn't be any notable drawbacks with the AI.
We are expecting for the AI to reach the required performance targets in the coming days and we have enabled a "debug" mode on the servers. This will allow us to fine tune the last parts of the training. And as an additional side benefit, we can also gather data for our statistical analysis to determine any performance related flaws that are occurring. It will definitely NOT cause any strange behavior to the site during the debug process. This debug mode will be brief, and once enough data has been gathered it’ll return to normal.
We understand users enjoy all aspects of the site, from the item system to the trading system to downloading and playing a game from time to time. While the moderation AI is still being trained, to combat the strain on staff time and, of course, the servers, the April Fools Event is officially canceled. That is right—you heard it here first—no April Fools Event.
The staff, however, does apologize for the lack of an event. So, a significant amount of time was put into wrapping this gift for you. No expense or time was spared in the decoration, wrapping and presentation of this gift. It is clear by looking at it, love, attention, and detail was poured into this package. We hope you all enjoy this as a token of our appreciation!
