No, the knowledge. Which almost always means experience. They won't care what degree you have if you're a great developer. At least not all will. Just being a great developer isn't something that you become over night.

I haven't mentioned many other requirements that you will need to fulfill; you need to speak the language, you will need to be able to properly communicate, apply for the job, pass the conversations, etc...

To some degree, consider the isolation level provided with each choice, but again dual boot is not a bad idea since you get the best performance, just be careful

Depends on how many machines they have, what's the goal and occupation.

Some use it as their main work machine in a spare pc, some use WSL and have multiple systems in a single machine.

If you lack computing resources, its better to use a USB persistence or WSL so it can be sandboxed and you can run scripts knowing nothing will corrupt your main disk.
