Offtopic group for casual talking about anything. @rules_for_python still apply (except for the ontopic rule)
In the book "crucial conversations" by kerry patterson theres a concepts called "the fools' choice"Читать полностью…
Its when you're dealing with people and you have to choose between risk losing them and turning them against you by criticizing them and fheir work
Or say nothing and let it slide and suffer silently
And the book argues ways to be the one who chooses a third way in which you criticize them and at the same time you gain respect and not turn them into your enemies
Now you might say fine but what does it have to do with financial decisions?
The key is detecting the fools' choice and see what the 3rd way look like, in terms of personal finance you will find applying percentages (dedicated fractions based on the whole budget) to your income quite useful, the exact mechanism that gamblers use to have a bit of both worlds
That way you wont have the guilt of having fun, nor the need for will power for saving money, you're having them both at a significantly less pressure (also invest some, compound interest could lift your life up, and since its based on exponential growth, one of the easiest things is to underestimate it at first as our brains are not really designed to fully comprehend exponential stuff)
That's what we get for it. Quantity instead of quality.

I understand that my answer was pointless, but the original question was as well. It's not easy to get a job, and everybody here comes asking for easy, when there is no such thing

"Easily"
No such thing. Start by getting a job, as shitty as it may be, you're unhireable without experience

Guys, I have a question about my current project.
Users upload documents to our app, and we currently send the PDF directly to the LLM. The PDFs are around 50–120 pages and can contain tables, handwritten content, etc., so Gemini is becoming very expensive.
My task is to reduce the cost. I tried OCR with image processing, but the extracted data is not accurate.
So, is there any better approach to extract the data without using OCR, while keeping good accuracy and reducing the LLM cost?
Please suggest some approaches, guys.
And I was just being me, taking things too seriously literally.
Same problem.

And with it every soul who think they're too good for honest work and tries to make money through spam and scam.

why are you using gemini? use deepseek-v4-flash or glm 5.3 flash, they have pretty similar performance to gemini models in fraction of cost, i'd recommend using deepseek they have aggressive caching, u might save a lot than u think.
