World powers are drafting a UN-backed Gaza reconstruction plan centered on a one-year technocratic government, and international stabilization forces, while rejecting any forced displacement of Palestinians.
The talks come ahead of a 22 September UN conference, where several European states are expected to recognize Palestine despite Israeli objections.
The Israeli and Palestinian human rights organizations, including Al-Haq, Al-Mezan, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, stated that the U.S. administration has escalated its attacks on Palestinian rights, targeting these institutions simply for upholding international law.
The organizations noted that these sanctions aim to erase fundamental human rights standards and enable Israel to continue harming Palestinians with impunity.
The organizations also said: “We stand in full solidarity with our colleagues defending human rights between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean, and we will continue to struggle alongside our partners worldwide to protect human lives and resist all attempts to erase humanity.”
Today afternoon the Israeli army bombed Mushtaha residential tower and threatened to bomb another one, Makka tower, in Gaza in preparation for the invasion of Gaza city. Minister Katz posted a picture of the destroyed building and commented, "We started".
