Director of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, Fadl Naim, says the situation in Gaza's hospitals is catastrophic and has spiraled out of control due to Israel's successive massacres against civilians.
"There is only one CT scanner in the northern Gaza Strip, while hospitals are in need of dozens more," he said, calling for the reopening of the crossings to ease the burden on the healthcare system.
The U.S. Mission to the UN said on Wednesday that it had sent a letter to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, opposing the renewal of Francesca Albanese’s term as UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories. The letter accuses Albanese of “antisemitism” due to her pro-Palestine and anti-genocide stance.

Dr. Fadel Naim, Director of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, issues an emergency appeal:
⭕ The healthcare system is in total collapse due to relentless Israeli attacks, and the situation is now completely out of control.
⭕ We urgently call on all relevant authorities to intervene and pressure for the immediate opening of the crossings to ease the overwhelming burden on hospitals.
⭕ There are no medicines, no wound dressings, no essential medical supplies, and no specialized care. The killing of medical staff by Israeli forces, combined with the inability to bring in new personnel, has made the crisis even more dire.
⭕ We make an urgent plea to the world: immediate action is needed. Dozens of wounded are lying on hospital floors, with a high risk of death due to continuous bombardment and the collapse of the healthcare system.
The director of Gaza's Al-Ahli Arabi Hospital in the middle of the Gaza City has told Al Jazeera that the situation of healthcare there is catastrophic as Israeli continues to attack residential houses.
“We call on those concerned to pressure the opening of the crossings to relieve the pressure on the healthcare system,” he said, adding that “there is only one CT scanner in the northern Gaza Strip, while we need dozens more.”
Israel’s relentless attacks on the Strip killed more than 1,100 people since it broke the ceasefire agreement on March 18.
