The Vatican has announced that Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday at the age of 88, at his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta.
Yesterday, the Pope called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and access to humanitarian aid during his Easter message.
He also urged the international community to take action and come to the aid of a starving people longing for a future of peace.
"They tied us up and fastened us to the tree."

A poll conducted by Israel's Kantar Institute and reported by the state broadcaster Kan shows that approximately 56% of the Israeli public supports an agreement allowing for the release of all captives held by Hamas in exchange for an end to the war in Gaza and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

UNRWA has reiterated its call for a ceasefire, saying civilians are enduring “unimaginable suffering”, adding that the vast majority of the casualties in Gaza are children, women and ordinary men.
Since the war started, over 51,000 Gazans have been killed; 70% of the killed people are children and women. “Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people," it added.
QNN correspondent reports that the teams of the International Red Cross and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society came under Israeli gunfire this morning while they were on a humanitarian rescue mission north of Rafah.
The teams were en route to Khirbet Al-Adas village, where several civilians have been trapped amid the ongoing Israeli invasion of the area. Despite prior coordination with Israeli authorities to ensure safe passage, the convoy was targeted and ultimately prevented from reaching the area.
Israel's ethnic cleansing scheme is not limited to Gaza and the West Bank.
This morning, Israeli forces accompanied by heavy bulldozers stormed the Arab-majority town of Tuba-Zangariyye in the north of 1948-occupied Palestine. Subsequently, they proceeded to demolish two homes, citing construction without Israeli permission as a pretext for the demolition.
