According to Munir Al-Bursh, director of the Health Ministry in Gaza, at least 289 Palestinians, including 115 children, have died of starvation amid a deepening famine crisis.
He warned that the situation is critical and requires an urgent, large-scale humanitarian response. In just the past 24 hours, eight more people, including a child, have died due to severe food shortages. Al-Bursh also condemned the ongoing restrictions on access to healthcare, calling them an intolerable violation.

“The last time we went to school I was in third grade – I had a home, and I had friends. Now I am in fifth grade, I lost my home, I lost my school, and I lost everything. But I will not lose knowledge because I really love to study,” she said.
Leen explained that after a long day “carrying water, buying wood and looking for food,” she takes her phone off the charger to continue studying online.
UNRWA is calling for global support to help sustain learning for Palestinian refugee children during this crisis.
