Despite the ongoing war and looming famine in Gaza, tens of thousands of children continue their education in makeshift classrooms that now double as shelters, UNRWA says.

Despite the immense hardships, including the loss of homes and schools, dedicated teachers and determined students like Leen press on with learning despite daily struggles.

“The last time we went to school I was in third grade – I had a home, and I had friends. Now I am in fifth grade, I lost my home, I lost my school, and I lost everything. But I will not lose knowledge because I really love to study,” she said.

Leen explained that after a long day “carrying water, buying wood and looking for food,” she takes her phone off the charger to continue studying online.

UNRWA is calling for global support to help sustain learning for Palestinian refugee children during this crisis.

Israeli forces uprooted approximately 3,000 olive trees in Al-Mughayyir, a Palestinian village northeast of Ramallah, according to local officials.

The move, justified by Israeli military as a "security measure" due to the trees’ proximity to a settler road, comes amid escalating settlers' attacks across the occupied West Bank.

The village, home to around 4,000 Palestinian residents, was placed under military lockdown from Thursday to Saturday following a settler’s report of gunfire. Since then, Israeli forces raided over 30 homes, causing extensive damage to property and vehicles.
