Asra Media Office warned that 72-year-old Palestinian detainee Sheikh Mohammad Jamal Al-Natsheh faces a serious deterioration in the health in Israeli prison as he suffers from memory loss, cognitive decline, and chronic illnesses amid deliberate medical neglect and refusal to transfer him for proper treatment.
His continued detention poses a direct threat to his life and constitutes a humanitarian crime under the policy of systematic medical negligence, the office added.
Sheikh Al-Natsheh, a prominent leader in Hebron, has been arrested dozens of times and spent nearly 23 years in Israeli prisons, mostly under administrative detention.
