Israel has seized over 70,000 square metres (745,000 sq ft) of land in the northern West Bank’s Nablus governorate, according to the Ramallah-based Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission. The land was seized under a “military and security seizure order” affecting several villages, reportedly to create a military zone around the Eli settlement.

The order was made public after the one-week objection period expired. Since the beginning of the year, Israel has issued 53 such military seizure orders to expand its control over the occupied West Bank, the commission said.
