Hebrew Channel 7 reported that Israel is advancing plans to rebuild the evacuated settlements of Sanur and Homesh, which were dismantled in 2005 in the northern West Bank. In addition, a new settlement is set to established near an army base atop Mount Ebal, overlooking Nablus. Another settlement project is focusing on a major infrastructure to link the hilltop settlements surrounding Nablus at a time settlement organizations are working to construct 8,000 new housing units there.
Israeli settlement projects have been on the rise since Israel waged a devastating war on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023. The surge in settlement construction is coupled with a rise in settlers' violence against Palestinians and their properties.
